I intended (and promised you) to make a video of your game like https://mega.nz/folder/WQ91HBxL#X4-j8Mj7H30Ai3aevWFEmA

unfortunately I got filtered by your game requiring a controller, so sorry about that.

I thought it would be obvious, but I guess I should let you know, requiring players to own specific hardware is a good way to cut down on number of players. I hope mouse and keyboard controls are going to be implemented in future.

Developer

Thanks for trying to play. I want to support mouse and keyboard, but the style I'm going for just doesn't really suit it. I'll try my hardest to get something working with mouse and keyboard for next DD, I agree its not the best idea to cut down on the number of players.

I do not know how it plays but maybe you could use wasd instead of left joystick, and ijkl for the other. See you next DD.

This is a bit too gimmicky for me. Very difficult to play by yourself, it feels like this is more of a two-player, one controller deal. It's very fiddly, if I could lock in one player while controlling another that might help. The balls would also roll over the holes a lot without going in, maybe make the hitbox a bit bigger.

I did like the anime style pop-ups and hitting the other player with the ball is funny.

Developer

thanks for playing! I agree its a bit gimmicky and frustrating. I'll be reworking for next DD with funnier, less precise gameplay :)

Welp, I don't have a controller. The game looks interesting. Maybe next time.

When I opened the game, the game window looked offcenter, see the picutre. I think it has to do with me having two monitors, my second monitor is located on the left of my main monitor.

Give me online multiplayer not just local.

The girls are really cute but the world art like buildings and trees look crude you should make everything cute.

This could use more music instead of ambient sound so you'll beat out or compete with other golf games better. Study mario golf 64 or something on charming ost's for a golf game.

Like the concept; and the girls themselves although one that adhires to my kinda fanservice with large breasts would be better then 2 flatlets. Keep it up!

Developer

thanks boku! Steam offers online remote play which I’ll be leveraging for online multiplayer with your friends. And yeah the music and graphics are a placeholder from another game, everything will become cute in future demo days once I flesh out the gameplay!

I’m afk until Tuesday but I’ll playtest bokube then, cheers mate!! Thanks again

I'm not feeling this concept. There's quite a bit of precision required even for a single golf ball, but I have to do it while juggling 2 balls now. The only thing that got me intrigued was hitting the other player, which got me thinking that there's a potential to add some cool interactions to spice things up.

thanks so much for playing!! I’m afk until Tuesday, when I’m back I’ll playtest your game then and give feedback!!

ngl I also enjoy hitting the other player a bunch lol. I too got frustrated at the precision component, I think I need to rework the mechanics to be less precision based and more fun. I have some ideas of silly mini games planned, for next demo day I’ll prototype some of those out . Thanks again, cheers!!

Going off only the singleplayer mode, the initial courses did feel similar and the strategies I used to clear them were too. With level design, since the hook is that you're using both players to golf at the same time, I think it would be cool to see the two characters working together instead of just golfing the same time in different spots on the course. How you implement that is difficult to say, maybe when one character is finished you can have them run ahead and interact with course hazards or use them to ricochet balls off of- sorry if this is off base for your goal with the game.

I do think the presentation is really charming, things like the balls knocking your teammate down are nice touches, I could see things like different girls having different idle animations they engage in when they've beaten the course and their partner is still golfing, adding some character to them.

Nothing is too offbase of a suggestion, I’m interested in following the fun. I think a teamwork approach to level design is great, I too thought of a level where you ricochet balls off each other lol. I got some thinking to do. I agree with what you said.

And yes, different idle animations are planned! Should be fun and cute lol. Thanks again for playing, cheers :)

It's got a charming style for sure, but the gameplay feels gimmicky.

What's fun about golf games is mastering the courses, imo forcing players to only do hole-in-ones hurts replayability.

Also my controller is old and shitty so having to aim by holding the stick caused gif related.

as for the controller point, I’m purposely testing on my old shitty controller and I noticed the same thing. I think I need to implement some sort of smoothing, it’s a common issue with controllers. At least I have it reproducible  :)

And yeah I’ll investigate non hole-in-one gameplay, I’m interested in whatever is maximum fun and not gimmicky. Got some thinking to do.

Thanks again!

I might be too stupid for this game. Would probably prefer if the power meter went up and down instead of firing automatically so you have more time to plan out the 2 shots. The hills worked as intended but was able to fire through walls in a few places. Being able to "lock in" a shot by holding one trigger would be nice, but it would also trivialize the point of the game so I get why you wouldn't want to add it. Any kind of pause menu to back out of or restart a course would be appreciated.

I agree with what you said, it sounds like the precision component is frustrating. Even at times when I was playing this game I felt too stupid lol. I think I need to tweak it more so it’s fun, not make people feel stupid. Thanks so much!!

Give brutal feedback on core gameplay mechanics, this is the first public build ever. A few notes:

- controller is required to play

- local multiplayer is working this build! 1-4 players supported, just plug in controllers and pair in screen with RB + LB

- “Two Putt” courses have 2 in-game golfers and are playable by 1-2 players. “Four Putt” courses have 4 in-game golfers and are playable by 2-4 players.
