Well, I had first downloaded the game just a few days ago, looks like I just reached the end of the road for now with the story...

[SPOILERS: You-know-who's dad basically telling a large henchman to "sick em"]

...so now I'll be waiting for the game to be continued. I'm hoping that with my getting the game so recently it will be possible to somehow transfer my saved game over to the update?

Looking forward to the update, cool job. :)

Unfortunately, RPGMaker is a fickle thing that doesn't like it when newer scripts are added to older save files. The reason each update comes with some prepackaged save files is because one can never know if/what kinda glitches or bugs may occur if you use save files from a previous version. It might be completely fine, or certain new things won't even appear in the game at all. Here's an example when I first started playing, when I downloaded a newer version, the Fire Dungeon got it's underwater section, but somehow I wasn't able to enter the water. Turned out it was because I was using an older save file, that didn't have that section yet. The preset save files all come with decently leveled characters though, you got a lot of gold, and each item available in the game's in your inventory at least once, plus in the Patreon version you can use the ID machine in the Gloomy Forest to change the Adventurer's name to what you were using before. And all the things/quests that can be done/unlocked in the game up to this point has already been done in the save files, so you shouldn't feel like you're losing any progress if you use them.

i see what you mean, that does all make sense. It sounds like I might have to reinstall it all over again "fresh" (uninstalling/deleting the original and then downloading the new version) as opposed to simply copying over the existing files to update it (please feel free to connect me if I'm wrong regarding this). I did indeed finally succeed in installing it successfully on my steam deck and it runs wonderfully on it, I just can't help thinking, "Oh no, not again". 😂 Here's hoping I'm just as successful the second time.

By the way,  I was thinking just last night about the possibility of my maybe creating some online comic strip style stories with some of these characters created for your game, not for profit, but just for the enjoyment of it. I don't know whether I'll have time to do it but I thought about the possibility, and wanted to ask if that was alright with you on your end. ;)

Looking forward to the update, and thanks for your help. :)

I always delete the older version entirely and replace it with the new one, I'm not sure what would happen if you copy-pasted the newer files over the old ones tbh. The save files are stored within the actual game folder, in "Small on Top/www/save", if that's what you're looking for. You can copy-paste the content of the save-folder into the new one, as long as it's the same version of the game there shouldn't be any problems.

I'm not the developer of the game, I'm 'just' the guy who beta-tests all the update before release, creates the prepackaged save files, and writes/updates the walkthrough. However, Spedumon does have a channel for fan art in his server, so I doubt he's opposed to it, as long as you credit him. But you can always ask him personally, the link to his server is right here on the game's front page

If you're interested, I've already created a comic loosely based on my game. I think I 've made 130+ pages of it already.

I have a folder for them here.

Oh yea, I definitely enjoy those. :) I was wondering if you might also enjoy it if I were to possibly create some cartoons of your characters on my end? I might not have enough time for anything elaborate, but if I do I might if that's okay with you. ;)

As long as it's not commercial it's fine with me (you don't sell them)

Don't worry, I never sell any of my cartoons (I've learned long ago that it makes it feel like work and saps all the enjoyment out of creating for me. I hate getting paid to create). Rather, I instead always encourage those who want to give me money for them to instead use it to make a donation to their fave charity. ;)

I believe the other fellow above mentioned that you might have a spot on here somewhere for them or something? If so, I can always put whatever I create there.
