I liked there was a story, but in a jam (and even a triple A game) for an action game the story is really of no consequence. Trying to read it in tiny bits made me eventually just skip it. I think a story can work, but it needs to be much smaller. The game play was pretty cool, I really would have liked power ups (unless I missed them). As you take damage, your mech becomes weaker and weaker and without a power up, there's nothing you can really do other than eventually lose once you've taken some damage. Perhaps mixing up the enemies a bit would be good two. Like have some melee and then some range, so there's a difference between the enemies. Other than that, it was cool and the controls felt fluid to me. Well done!

Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback!
Yeah, I agree the story was a bit long compared to the rest of the gameplay, I was thinking about it while writing it, but I did try my best to make the intro and final encounter interesting. The parts in between are relatively short.
About the gameplay, there are new, more powerful weapons that you automatically collect when you defeat each boss, replacing your old/broken equipment while also restoring a tiny bit of health.

OK, cool, I'll have to try it again and defeat the bosses!

OK, gave it another shot. I killed a few bosses, but would get smoked shortly after getting near the next boss. One of the issues I had was navigating around the platforms. I would get stuck and have to turn around just to get smoked by a bunch more enemies. I think if the difficulty level built, rather than being very difficult the entire time, it wouldn't be as frustrating. I mean, bosses are meant to be more difficult than the surrounding enemies, but the surrounding enemies were almost always the ones to wipe me out. It was fun though and interesting!
