Seems like it might be a cool game from the comments but I am unable to play due to godot.

Really enjoyed this one. Bit too clicky through the different menus and could probably do with moving the reset buttons above the tabs, just so you don't have to navigate between them so often. Could also do with arrow key movement, as well as an option to move towards the mouse without needing to click and hold.

Great game :) I personally found it a little too long and would have preferred progression to be a little faster between dark matter resets but still enjoyed my time with it.

This was hecking adorable and I would love to see an expansion someday. There's something extremely satisfying about being a hungy black hole wandering through space nomming stars. I also really appreciated the optional joystick because I like having games be mobile-compatible so that I can jump in here and there while I work (I do home remodeling so do not have my computer easily accessible while working). The game took a bit to load (firefox for macos) but other than that no problems. 9/10 would hungy black hole all day (I love my crunchy math too much to give it 10/10 but it was still v good)

I enjoyed progression, it felt natural. Star-picking gameplay might be a little tedious, also holding mouse button makes my finger hurt (but you can click outside of the window to make game think you hold a button), so it’s fine. But upgrades were fun and mechanics were engaging.

I really enjoyed moving my black hole around, and the joystick controls made it work really well on mobile! It would’ve been nice if I could have scrolled the upgrades lists by dragging, but that’s a nitpick.

Since the core mechanic was so fun, I would’ve liked to see more don’t with it. For example, further increasing the collection area or making the black hole move faster. Perhaps a mechanic making some stars spawn 1 tier higher, etc.

Great game, and good potential for expansion!

Fun little game, maybe a bit too fun because I didn't check upgrades at the beginning. The prestige layers feel a bit haphazardly tacked on but I do like the antimatter mechanic. I do wish mass and energy were more than currencies and had some sort of effect though like gravitation.

(Radiation may be a more suitable currency name than light, as EM waves from black holes tend not to reach into the visible spectrum- And additionally, black holes decay via hawking radiation, so it does make a bit of sense)

It reminds me of heartosis's entry with a bit more depth due to the antimatter mechanic.

The control clicking in the joystick is annoying. Is better make that the player press the mouse in one position and the black hole go to the position.

The joystick thing is for mobile

You can use WASD to move. Looking at it, I really should have made it obvious in-game too...

Well, I use the direction key instead of WASD.

Unfortunately the game doesn't start for me. It gets stuck on loading and prevents me from using Chrome completely. I'm using Chrome Version 114.0.5735.198.

I really have no idea what may be causing this. The game doesn't even have any audio so I'm at a loss as to why there's an audio related issue. It's probably either a Godot bug or Chrome's fault.

Either way, thank you for bringing it to my attention.

One of my personal favourites for this jam, highly addicting game-play loop that constantly leads back into itself with enjoyable upgrades and prestige systems. One of the most well designed classically styled incremental games. You can tell the level of care and quality put into this, it's very refreshing to see. My only minor problem is that eventually the constant holding down of the arrow keys becomes fairly annoying and a bit tedious. It is a little unfortunate there isn't an idle option for this game. Of course, the game isn't designed that way and I found myself still actively playing it and focusing on it for way longer than I anticipated.

Very impressive entry, I'm convinced this might be the winner or at least very close to it.

Thank you for the kind words! I wanted to add an 'auto mode' upgrade but ran out of time haha

The game is pretty fun, but after the second dark matter the balancing seems to be very slow.

Developer

Yeah ngl the entire dark matter tab is quite unbalanced. My laziness caught up to me and I had to rush all the dark matter upgrades in 2 days. I'm glad you still enjoyed the game

This was a fun game! The pace was good and it felt pretty unique. I hope after the jam it could possibly be expanded upon as I enjoyed floating around and get big number feeling.

Developer

Sadly the game is an absolute mess of spaghetti code lol

There might be some small balance adjustments after the jam but unless I remake it from the ground up there won't be any new content.
