I played it ASAP and I was surprised in multiple ways with this game, as a standalone experience as well as a sequel to the original.

The game has many MANY twists and turns and it's fun to be unraveling the story with the new pieces of lore about the family and interactions with the characters, is definitely an enchantment from the first one.

The game has a more comedic tone, no doubt about it, and although I enjoyed 99% (Not a fan of fart jokes sorry) of the jokes and that amazing introduction scene, I feel my expectations got crushed since I was expecting pure horror just as the first game, this is of course a personal preference and it doesn't make or break the game in any significant way. Actually it may help people that have trouble with horror to deal with the game better. But it indeed affected my first impressions.

I was a little worried by how fast the sequel was developed but everything looks and sounds even better, I have no idea how you do it! Alesa is lovely as ever and the new monsters are all really quirky and fun to interact with. and some new enemy designs as well as endings are REALLY GOOD.

Not gonna spoil anything about the endings but I love that we get a lot more endings and outcomes, albeit a little simpler than the original game endings but I rather have the freedom to decide my own unique outcome like in this one. The romance is also fun.

Great way of implementing the trigger warnings, and I don't know if I missed something but I didn't see anything resembling Thalassophobia?

I also liked how the game embraced Alesa's cake but sometimes it feels a little bit too focused into that, and even tough it makes for some amazing jokes (I lost it at the Mannequin ass cheeks clap) it took me out of the horror.

It indeed remind me of some horror movies sense of humor, the inspirations are clear and very well implemented, specially I feel the cosmic horror addition was a great thing, it makes the whole Mr.bob thing a lot more complicated and hard to understand (This is a good thing).

So, even if I did not enjoy the comedy 100% I am still OK with it and respect your creative decision to include it, I am not asking for anything to change (except maybe the mirror sound effect that almost sacrificed my sense of hearing haha).

I hope I can be here to keep enjoying your future games sorry about the long review.

Good luck and Keep up the good work!

PS:WORSHIP THE CAKE!

Hikiyami! Thank you so much! I watched the whole video (almost 3 hours hahaha) and I really appreciate all the feedback.
There are definitely many aspects that could have been better and I understand the tone shift from pure horror to dark comedy horror might not be everyone's cup of tea (and the fart jokes are too much), but as you mentioned, there's the risk of making the exact same game again (and then you get accused of making the same game) and sometimes it's hard live up to the previous version. I took a gamble and I guess people will be divided regarding the jokes and the tone shift. I'll definitely go back to pure horror for my next project.
Nevertheless, your feedback is really valuable and I will certainly keep it in mind for future projects! And I will certainly never use that mirror sound effect again hahahaha

Here are some clarifications:

-the paintings are not references to anyone, I was just messing around with paint and came up with whatever crossed my mind, but I guess they could be family members who lived in another house
-the hat not disappearing is actually a bug, but it could also be that the puppet forgot to take it
-the lamp in the basement is a reference to the lamp ending from the first game
-the ghostly clock was needed so that the worshipper tells you the time (12:30), so then you tell that number to cousin Marietta. But you solved the puzzle earlier than expected hahaha
-Greta is not a floating head hahaha, she's just wearing a pitch black dress. At times, you can see her arms and hands
-Thalassophobia was supposed to be represented in the mermaid's cave, but I guess it didn't work as intended
-the mini bobs and rotten Alesas are not real enemies, they said random things. The rotten Alesa creature is supposed to represent what Alesa will become if she marries Mr. Bob

I'm probably forgetting something but anyway

Thanks again for the playthrough and your feedback! I really enjoyed the video!
