The overall presentation is great! The artworks are amazing and this is also the only voice acted submission I've seen.

But I feel that in the presentation some key informations were left out. For example, an indicator of when Master Augusti would reach out to pick an ingredient. it seemed too random and too sudden, maybe a short animation could help. Or an explanation for the game overs, sometimes I felt like I did the correct thing but failed anyway.

Other than that I would suggest to check for bugs, that might be a factor that makes the game rules unclear.

I'm pretty sure one of the thing people think is a bug is that the wizard keeps burning to the point that they lose the game. I didn't do a very good job of playtesting that and people afterwards have been confused with it as they didn't notice it happening. More particles, more fierce effect with sounds, that is needed.

Amazing art! I'm confused with the gameplay since the wizard keeps grabbing the first thing next to his hand. Is this intended?

Developer

Thank you for your comment! Yes the grabbing thing next to his hand was intended. 😅 As a bit of a chaos game, I wanted the wizard to reach out to grab anything in his reach, and it was your role to keep the unwanted things out of his hands and the right potions there to be grabbed (If he happens to be willing to grab them). But as I read these comments I think the mechanic was a bit confusing. Maybe some kind of anticipation or something would have been great, something that indicates that he is about to grab. Or something else 🤷‍♂️

Nice artwork, cool that it works on android too. https://ajamajan.itch.io/dogs-best-friend

Very good looking game, and the voiceovers a great too. Plus point for the mobile port!

The gameplay however wasn't very smooth, because I kept loosing at seemingly random times. Other than that, good game.

incredible art! and i really like the core idea, definitely would like to play more of this :) but yeah, i wish there was better indication of where exactly you made a mistake, bc sometimes i'd get blown up and had no idea what i did wrong, as i was (seemingly?) giving the wizard the right ingredients

Wow, this is the most beautiful art I have seen so far. I didn't quite understand the gameplay, but a tutorial would probably help.

Jutta is very thankful for all the praise for the art. It was fun to see her workprocess of painting the sprites with acrylics and scanning them, she never ceases to impress. I for other hand have a little learning process with the teaching of gameplay 😅 -Joel

First of all, amazing graphics wow!
secondly I belive you should work both on gameplay and add a tutorial, even when I understood what to do it felt like I had no control and the cauldron would explode.

Developer(+1)

True! The little more indepth tutorial would've been necessary. Also enhancing the gameplay would have come next, but the time was quickly up. We had many fun ideas, like a bat 🦇 flying around that you should catch and put into the pot.

I was a bit confused with what to do, but is quite easy to understand, would have helped if the hand had a circle where you know where to take the potion to, sometimes I put in the pot and it just exploded, nice art, good job

Thank you for your comment! True, I think the game should have had something indicating, what to do, but In a way it kicks itself running. I should emphasize on tutorials next time 🤔
