Just looking at your game page, you may need to tweak the page graphics a bit. See: https://itch.io/docs/creators/design

You have some good images of your game letting people see it being top-down with exploration themes.

It's also a .exe meaning that it's for Windows. Might be helpful to tag the operating system being used as well. Some people might be clicking to view your game but only running on a Mac, or using a smartphone, or wielding Linux.

You have some text about the protagonist's relationship with other characters. Perhaps you could comunicate that angle in your display a bit more.

Your cover image is of a book with writing in it. Nowhere in your display can people see how it relates to your game. They may be feeling duped into clicking on an empty promise. (The promise that your cover image was applicable to your game.)

Also, is everything top-down, or do you have assets of the character's faces? Something in the game in a different presentation style? If the environment/level of the game changes, it might be helpful to have an animated GIF as well.
