See, this is why you shouldn't do the whole "choose your relationship with her" thing. "Vica." You can choose your relationship with her at the beginning. The default is "housemate," but you can choose to make it whatever you want. So, since it didn't make much sense for a guy to risk his life for a "housemate," I changed it to "girlfriend." At first, everything was fine. But then we got to the scene where the queen coerces us into having sex in front of her... And the protagonist makes clear that they do not have a physical relationship, and indeed, the thought of having physical intimacy with her disturbs him greatly... That means Vica ain't his "girlfriend" or his "housemate!" So it's fucked up now. I have  to go the rest of the game with the protagonist saying "Oh my god, I can't believe I had sex with my girlfriend! Gross!" Lame.

Typically "housemate" is used to avoid incest flags in games like this.

Then he should just stop trying to be a half-way crook and make it an incest game.  Sure, he'd lose a lot of views (like mine), but at least the people who do view it will be his target audience.

Oh and such a loss it would be to not get such comments from such an asshole as you are, right? 😁

I never experienced your issue because my version is not censored and therefore has always stated from the start that Vica is my sister and never requested me to choose our relationship while you played an incest-censored version which I agree is a shame because from your reaction, you would have avoided this game from the start had you known it involves incest and then I would not be having fun humiliating your arrogance now, would I? 😼

It doesn't even matter if he likes incest or not.  An incest-lover could easily also fall into the trap of calling his incest-partner his "girlfriend" and having a large part of the story then not make sense.

The game shouldn't give a free choice of roles on a character that actually has a very specific role in-story; that's all.  Adding a check to see if that character has a "family member" title and doing the incest stuff if so (making the incest stuff optional, and easy to miss in its entirety) would make far more sense for the censored version.

You think this way because you don't understand why it had to be censored in the first place.

This is all because of Patreon's hypocritical rules who dictate their own preferences to their creators even though Patreon does not fund their creators with their own money as Patreon is merely a (tyrannical) middle-man between creators and their actual patrons and yet Patreon still imposes their own preferences to their creators who they do not even fund themselves such as incest prohibition whereas rape allowed which is why Patreon's developers are NOT independent as Patreon behaves just like any publisher does and this is the reason why creators have to censor incest in the first place all because of Patreon, do you understand now?

I understand that, and I also understand how Banjorune feels.  I don't think "Patreon's policies are unavoidable so the customers hurt by the consequences of said policies are in the wrong" is the correct resolution at all.

There doesn't even have to be a solution to this problem - if it's unavoidable that Patreon is just harming everyone, then you simply blame Patreon and the developer has his hands clean (and so does that user that complained).  However, there are other ways out - for example, the game could give the user a free choice of role, and only provide the incest content if the name of a familial relation (i.e. sister, brother, mother, father, cousin) is given as the character's role.  This censors the incest content even harder, but still makes it available for those who want it.

Careful now, did I actually claim that "Patreon's policies are unavoidable so the customers hurt by the consequences of said policies are in the wrong"? I don't think so since I merely explained why this is so without defending it in any way. 😉

But your idea is good even though most developers are really too lazy to design multiple versions of each scene according to the kind of relationship the characters share. 😏
