TIN can be anything, what you looking for is ITIN you need to fill out W-7 do not mistake it for W-7 COA. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/individual-taxpayer-identification-number
I am assuming you never done businesses in the USA so here is what you need to do:
- check off "Applying for a new ITIN"
- check off "A" this means you are not a civilan for america and never done businesses with the country.
- At "Enter treaty country" you put Egypt and then at " treaty article number" you add the numbers "Article 8" (i am not 100% sure it is always hard to tell with limited infomation from peope, Article 8 is a businesses profit claim, you can still get tax in your own country by laws).
- Add your real name and address, Do note you need to file your address in "Foreign".
- Birth infomation
- Fill out 6a and 6b(if any)
- 6d you check what you think is needed to proof that it is really you. I would recommend Passport and driver licence, copy them in a printer and keep them save until the next steps.
- 6e check "No"
- Sign here is just your name, the days you signed and phone number. DO not do anything else you are done with the paper.
Make a copy of the W-7 for safty reasons. Then you give it to someone who is IRS-authorized Certifying Acceptance Agent. or by mail at:
Internal Revenue Service
Austin Service Center
ITIN Operation
P.O. Box 149342
Austin, TX 78714-9342
They both require the copy passport and driver licence, do not forget to add those copys in the mail if doing it by mail.
Wait a few weeks and you should get it. Enter the ITIN numbers the tax interview requested and everything else should be easy.
