Cool game and cool character! Good use of textures and sound effects.

There are some issues in how the level is designed, as the player activates things outside their field of view and portals may teleport them in range of enemies' melee attacks. The mechanic of the camera tilt that you only used once could be re-used, for example, to show the player the locked door before they even have the ability open it.

Also, before closing a door automatically check that the character is not in the way or they may get stuck in the door.

Very nice game, made me feel like i was playing a ps1 game.
I imagine this game with a lot of more enemies and some music like Doom, and it would be amazing.

Cute game. The mechanics were nice, although I found the camera angle a little awkward. Good job!

Thanks!

Could use ALOT more work on the modelling/sound design (The bullet sound seems to have a very low bitrate) aspect but feels REALLY fun! The camera is very smooth for a 3D-Topdown and the cursor linking up to the gun just feels natural (and allows me to do a 360 noscope in a topdown game!) However i think some features like the fact bullets can go through portals and bombs should have been expanded upon. Balancing is OK, however one or two more enemies or less health spamming would do wonders (and maybe actually kill players!) I have no clue how this links to the theme jam, which will be my first 1-star of this jam

Also, Brownie points for a linux build 1/4/3

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, I definitely agree the mechanics of the portals should have used more. Right now, they feel more like an afterthought than a highlight. I was hoping that the use of portals would fit into the theme of "connections" but again, because they aren't really emphasized or used very much in the gameplay, perhaps there's not really a strong "connection" to the theme hehe.

I'm actually surprised to hear the game wasn't difficult enough, in the past I've had a tendency to make games too hard hehe :)
