This was so much fun! I love picross; it's one of my favourite ways to unwind, and I'm impressed to see it done in renpy. I love both characters and really enjoyed the epilogue!

Bit harsh at start but cute. Makes me activate brain which is too hard. Needs an easy mode

This game taught a silly gay bimbo like me how to picross in a fun and cute way. Two weeks later and I’m still staying up late finishing every level of Mario no Sūpā Pikurosu. Beware!

while i'm down bad for the one with the glasses

I loved playing thisssss. Nonograms are so lovely and this game is so cutee, the music encapsulated the vibes perfectly too! It was easy to accidentally click the wrong square but it was fine since there was no penalty. The layout of it is so nice that I kinda wanna play every nonogram in this game from now on haha

i found a bug, basically when i want to load and click yes/no, while on a picross, you also click the square in the picross.

I LOVE NONOGRAMS SO MUCH AND ITS MADE BY MY FAVOURITE CREATOR TOO????  I LOVE THIS SO MUCH

this was such a cute game!!!! i love nonograms/picross so i had a lot of fun, and the music was really relaxing too!! i love cassia and senna so much the epilogue made me tear up a little :') all of this dev's games that i've played have been very comforting and fun and i really enjoy them <33

If anyone is interested in trying their hand in nonograms, here is a fantastic site with nonograms of all shapes and sizes, from beginner to expert!

Hello! This was a fantastic little game! Such a rarity to see Nonograms (or Picross) getting the recognition they deserve! It is very beginner friendly, maybe even a bit too much. But the game shines in its story, and is a nice study of one of these kinds of fleeting relationships that are ever so memorable. The main characters were delightful and their interactions felt real despite the whole magic thing! And the fantastic soundtrack and the artistic polish really makes this game something wonderful. Thank you for making this game!

I'm in love with story telling! finished quickly but super cute!

I LOVE Picross games and I've played so many, but this is one of my favorites. I love how chill it is! It's so easy, especially digitally, to accidentally mess up and click wrong, but this game doesn't penalize me at all. Even the timer can be hidden with a cute kitty face! Plus the controls were solid and the story was super sweet 🧡 Thank you for making this and making it so easy for everyone to play :D 🥳

Such a lovely game! 🐻💖
Very entertaining, I enjoyed it a lot.
The art is so cute and beautiful, very unique and mechanichs are sooo clever, I have never tried anything like this before.
Highly recommended! ⭐

This was awesome!!! God, these games, stories and Art you produce make me so beyond happy, thank you so much for this.

it was very surreal to play as an "airheaded," gay, trans teenage girl... given that i am an "airheaded," gay, trans teenage girl...

10/10 would play again

Spending the whole game saying "damn she literally me fr" only to hit the last epilogue chapter and realise DAMN she literally me fr

sameeeee

I need this! I would wish this has an Android version. I'm also a fan of picross/nonogram games like this.

I love picross games just as much as I do cute things, so seeing this I knew it would be right up my alley. And it definitely was a nice experience! I'd say it's a great place for people who haven't played a picross game before to start with. The majority of the puzzles here I would say are pretty beginner friendly, and the majority of them are recognizable to what they are supposed to look like, even the 5x5 puzzles which I tend to have a hard time seeing what it's supposed to be in other games. The dialog is also really charming, and the absolutely adorable character designs goes well! If I had to give some sort of criticism/complaints, I'd say I only have two. One thing I noticed on one of the last puzzles is that the X marked locations can still be filled in like any other blank locations. This wouldn't be much of a big deal to me, however the only controls in the game (as of writing this) is with the mouse. Which is fine, for the most part, but I do think it makes it easier to fill in spots that you don't mean to fill in. I personally find it better to play picross games with a keyboard if at all possible, and I can *sorta* tell that something like that was in the works since the arrow keys do move the cursor to the next unfilled box, but there's no way to fill them in from what I can tell. Instructions only talk about the mouse controls, no mention of keyboard controls at all from what I've seen. But honestly, these are just personal gripes I have, and pretty minor ones at that. This is still a nice, enjoyable experience that I'd love to see more of in the future!

Quite enjoyable; solved all 15 puzzles. My only critique is that I wanted more of it. I reckon in the end that's the best problem a game can have.

Thanks for making this!

Loved it!

Speaking of failing the last year of school, I'm doodling at 2 AM and playing gay witch picross instead of studying for my history and math exams tomorrow. PLEASE MAKE MORE!!!!! They are adorable..

(+2)

That looks like a really well developed style! But pls do study lol

The 15x15 puzzles is goes slow.

This is so cute and fun!

Can you make an Android version I am really looking forward to it cause all your games are just soooo amazing and I really love the art style!

amazing game! would love for more levels :)

Hi Nami! Huge fan of your games, but I am running into a problem.

For some reason, the sound of the game keeps stopping when I begin the first puzzle (the tutorial puzzle), and then when I try to quit, the game crashes. When I reopen the game, there is no sound whatsoever.

Could this be a bug? I hope it's fixable, really wanted to play. :(

Thanks for reading!

how strange, i've never heard of something like this happening... is there a screen when it crashes, or does it just close out of the game automatically? i know sometimes games won't run correctly if you don't unzip the folder first... what system are you playing on? i hope you can get it working haha

(1 edit)

Whenever I try to close the game after the sound goes away it gives me that screen where it says the game isn't responding (it says it's not responding and gives the option to close). Just before that, though, the screen gives that faint tint of white.

As for the system that I'm playing on it is Windows. I also did extract the game correctly. I've never heard of something like this happening either so I am very much confused as well lol.

weird!! i genuinely can't think of what would be causing that... i'm sorry i can't help more ;_;

(1 edit)

That's okay! I'll try redownloading when I get the chance. If it still doesn't work, I'll wait for the Android release if there is one.

I also have all your other games to play, so it's all good! ^_^

(OH WAIT I don't have "Bad End Theatre" yet. I'm hoping to get it sometime though!)

WAIT YOU CAN DO PICROSS IN RENPY??? if u put up a tutorial/example code I would def pay money for it I've been wanting to make a picross type game but don't understand complicated coding @w@;;

This looks super cute tho excited to try it out when I get some free time!

(+1)

yes! i want to share my code the same as with the syrup rpg framework, i just need to spend some time cleaning it up and making it run more efficiently (since it slows down a lot on larger grids depending on your computer)

i hope more people will make picross games, since i love playing them! hehe, enjoy this one when you get a chance :)

Oh that's so exciting to hear! I can't wait! :))

This game is how gigachads play picross. Very cute and relaxing :)

Cutesy lo-fi Witch Puzzle Game | Charm Studies

Very cute game. The music was very nice and the puzzles were just challenging enough. All around a very chill and great experience. Keep up the great work!!

Sweet game with nice music that you can listen to after you finish it and cool art.

Cute!  I like how the game discusses things like privilege in a subtle way. Also Picross is fun.

She's like me, She's like me fr

// Epilogue 3

Is Cassia, like....y'know (*゚ェ゚*)

I adore this game sm, a combo of my favorite puzzle and a wonderful story!! It was short and very sweet <3

(+3)

As awesome as all of your games! I feel I might actually be able to offer advice for once, so please forgive my intrusion. I noticed that the game lagged a bit on the 15x15 puzzles, and, since you're using ren'py (and by extension, python) I have a few tips. What might be causing the lag is that you're drawing every single square to the screen, instead of say, using the grid as a background, or using an image library. If you are already, it might be because you're looping through every single cell and running checks on them all every frame. Maybe try limiting the scope? I'd give more advice, but I don't know if you're using a 1d or 2d array.
Anyway, the game is [bleep]ing awesome, as are all your games, and I loved it. I will go back to enjoying your content from the shadows now.

Picross.

i really loved this game!!! i resonated a lot with cassia (though i wouldnt consider myself to be as childish) and the game really hit hard because of that. i love cassia and sennas relationship a lot and the picross was really fun!!
i dont have much else to say i just want to say before i go that cassia is the adhd creature ever i love her (- adhder)

So cute! The game is also feeling soothing!

As a Picross lover, I really enjoyed this! Cute and relaxing, and props for letting the player hide the timer if they don't feel like rushing <3
I wonder how one even goes about implementing something like this in Ren'Py, though... it must've required a lot of work OTL
So thank you once again for making this!!

(+1)

wow this actually taught be how to do picross lol

great story! the characters are nice and the story has a sweet ending

very cool! <3

(+2)
