Hi again!! I just wanted to post my thoughts after officially completing the game :D

I loved this game, I absolutely loved doing a lot of math again, since there's not a lot of games out there where I get to enjoy doing math again :3 so thank you! I might try and pick my favorite puzzles later on and share them, but for now I want to say that I'm a big fan and I want to root for you and support you in any way I can regarding your journey/game development journey!  The only puzzle I decided to search up a video to just follow and quickly complete was the very last level lol, because my brain was fried after figuring out every puzzle beforehand!!! In total it took me somewhere between 30-44 hours to 100% complete (I know about the Pause feature, but I love the music so much I just left it on sometimes lol). Also on math problems, instead of pausing and using paper+pen, I left the game running to simulate a more accurate time it took me to solve! Not the most accurate reflection of solving it at my best (often I stayed up past 5 am still playing lol) Truly an addicting and favorite game. It easily reaches top tier video game status for me. <3

Let me know if you're curious what puzzles I liked best or reasons why and I will come up with a list!!  I'm currently playing through File 2 to see how much faster I can do the puzzles now, and after awhile I might try and fully understand some puzzles because tbh there's always more to learn. But I did surprise and impress myself when I realized how my puzzle-solving brain works lol  ^>^ I've shared this game with my partner and a few of my friends and so far everyone loves it. I hope I can make games like this when I have the financial stability and right time+energy to embark on my game development journey.

I want to know: What your reaction to Lockpick Graduation, when you realized the main crux of the color white?

(1 edit)

Edit: maybe I should ROT13 or whatever some of my message? I didn’t really think about that :0 I don’t think I give much away when talking about the last puzzle though so not really worth it. Just putting it out there for anyone- watch out for potential **Spoilers

I didn’t record solving any of the puzzles sadly. So I don’t really remember what all my reactions were

I originally just followed a random quick-playthrough video on YT to the final level. Then when I made a new file and placed through everything, I had the energy to try the final puzzle. I couldn’t really remember the video at all so I got to still figure it out and I remember it being really cool to figure out stuff. And to somehow figure out which key to lock with the Star key, etc. I remember figuring out that using a negative gold key on the main door was the only way I could actually get any white keys or something? I thought that was really cool. Then after I had solved it I remember that I could pretty much just zoom through the level after that 😹 which impressed my boyfriend, which works for me lol

it was something along those lines!

Good for you! I think this puzzle might just be the best in the game.

I remember I was originally misled into thinking that the other door near the top right was the one I needed to modify. Thankfully I had the sense to prototype my solution before solving all my other problems. My bafflement when I figured it was the wrong way round!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it. One friend of mine described this game as "brain oil" which I think I'm inclined to agree with. This game sort of unlocks something in a lot of the people who play it, no pun intended. Part 2 development as of recent has been hiccuping a few times, but I'm still making slow progress. Hopefully it'll be out someday.
