Gameplay Instructions
Press and hold [CTRL] when you are in the game. There will be an overlay in the bottom left corner showing all the controls.

What platform is your game built for?

Windows

List any content that was created before the jam.
I used a Rock that I sculpted two weeks ago for a personal art project. I changed the material though to bring it in line with the cliff.

I used a cliff ZBrush source file from Quixel Megascans as a sculpting base to create my own version of a cliff. Texture and material were done from scratch.

For all the foliage, except for the grass, I used Quixel Megascans atlases as a texture base. I changed those textures in Photoshop, made my own foliage models in Blender and also my own foliage materials. The grass was made procedurally with Blender Geometry Nodes.

I used the Oceanology Marketplace Plugin for the ocean and the background ship. I modeled my own sails for the background ship though.

I used the Birds Marketplace Asset for the Seagull skeletal mesh, textures, material and the animations. The animation blueprint and some of the montages I built from scratch though.

I used the Plane and Spaceship Controller Marketplace Asset as the foundation for the flying movement. I heavily modified it though and extended it with the nosedive feature.

All the music and all the sound effects in the game are from Dynamedion (weloveindies.com)

The toy static mesh (locomotive) is from the Toys for Kids Marketplace Asset

The blood VFX are from the FXVille Blood Marketplace Asset
The water splash VFX is from the Niagara_WaterFoam_Splash_Pack Marketplace Asset

The nest 3D model is an asset I bought from Turbosquid (alexkovalev). I touched up the texture, so that fits more in the game though.

The fish model is from the Beefy Bass Marketplace Asset

The settings menu is from the Blueprint Settings Menu Marketplace Asset by Kekdot. I changed the font though.

The seagull-, chick-, and fish- icons are also from a google image search. I forgot to write down who the creators were, unfortunately.

Everything else was made from scratch!

A surprise is waiting when you fly to one of the ships btw.

Congrats  for your submission, I love birds (I'm pretty obsessed to be honest) and I felt so bad for making the babies starve 😅.
The controls are pretty difficult to master but I guess that's the difficulty of the game.
I really enjoyed the music slowing down while you are diving!

Thanks for your kind words, and congrats for your submission too!

I don't really understand the controls and I was never able to catch any of the fish. But the game looks amazing, and the game idea is really fun. The music is good, but I am not sure how well it fits the game idea. Overall an interesting and pretty jam game.

Thank you! The trick is to almost be directly above the fish swarm (~ 10-20m above) and then to rapidly nosedive by holding the right mouse button and moving the mouse down to rotate the seagull towards the water surface. This nosedive accelerates you quite a bit and allows you to dive deeper below the water surface where the fish are. You can see this in action in the trailer.

A bit weird controls for me. All other aspects outstanding! Music, visual, UI - 10/10. Great job!

Amazing visuals a bit funky controlls but really banging music

Thanks to this game I now know how it feels to be a single parent

12 seagul babies out of 10

This looks terrific! It’d be impressive enough from a team but as a fellow solo dev I’m amazed at how polished everything is. Looking forward to playing it when I’m back at my PC.
