Holy Freaking Hell that was awesome !
I really like the very megaman controls you had but with the added bonus of the 8way aiming direction. The weapon system is also really cool, and it kinda subverts expectations a bit, since you start with a sword i thought it would be melee only, and while that's technically true i really like that the other weapons were a boomerang and a shield, really made for some variety, and that Ar secondary is pretty nice as well.
And i like how you changed the action a bit from time to time with the Shmup segments.
Spritework is amazing, and i really like that with how tongue in cheek the story's tone is the mech design almost have a Megazord look to them, kind of a mix of that and Gundams which is awesome :p
Music is also really catchy and these are certified bangers !
Also really enjoyed how you've played with Anime tropes really funny stuff :D
Overall i had a blast playing this to the end ^^
For a 2 person team you did really great, congrats :)
