What a poop game :D

Really impressed by how complete and polished it is. Other than it not being very deep gameplay-wise, it's a funny and original take on the theme and I'm glad I tried it.

Out of interest, what engine did you build this in, or was it built from scratch?

Developer

Haha, thanks for the feedback!

We used GameMaker Studio 2, one day I'm hoping to learn Unity, but as of now this is what I grew up programming with. How about you, what did you use?

Nice, I've seen quite a few neat games made with GMS 2.

I used Unity - thinking of using Godot next year though!

Never before have I gotten so screwed by a goddamned poopie. The game is fun and over the top (in a good way), and I found myself enjoying it. You don't always totally feel the "roll of the dice" during gameplay but it's still there and it makes sense. Great game!

Developer

The freaken poopies man, they constantly screw us over too.. and we made the game! Thanks for playing our game and for the feedback!

Wow, thats a realy great game! Love the music, art and story! If I had to point out something it would be that you cant skip/make the story go faster (Clicked esc and it closed the game, so I had to sit through it again) and the target lvl did not tell me to find a bow so I found that a little bit confusing (started mashing keybord to find what I am suposed to do with the targets and then clicked the esc button) and the last thing is that esc button is closing the game. Nevertheless it's a great game, well done!

Developer(+1)

So sorry about the esc issue haha! And the issue of not knowing about the bow is totally on us as well. The initial thought was that it would play into the theme, because you'd have to find it by "chance," but in reality it just made for poor gameplay LOL. The secret button to speed up the words between games was actually space, I used it during dev but I didn't necessarily want players to know they could skip the words, nevertheless I probably should have just put a lil thing that said, "press space to speed up words" or something. Anyway, thanks for playing and the good review!

this right here is great

Thanks man! Really appreciate you playing! Did you get a chance to leave/save a rating? I wasn't sure if the total number of ratings went up after you left this comment

That poop minigame was honestly hilarious, and I even felt some stress as I tried to pick up my prolific pooper's poops at the last second. Also loved the writing for the in-between screens. I do think that the collision was a bit wonky for some of the arrow targets when they were on top of another collision object, but otherwise really cool. Nicely done!

Developer

When I heard the dramatic fart sound effect, there was no way that I couldn't include it! We were going to make the targets sway, but with time we didn't have the opportunity. Thanks so much for playing and leaving the review

I wasn't expecting the twist of atmosphere that the game has hahahaha! It was very funny, good job! I would love to see what would have happened if there had been time to put in a lot more mini-games, with more life stages.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

It still makes me laugh while playing it! Originally the game was intended to be dark throughout, but after we saw how funny the sudden shift was, we had to keep it! I totally agree that it needs more mini-games and to explore the whole life-stages theme more. Thanks for playing, man!

This game is great! The little messages are a nice feature however, the game was pretty short (understandable since, like you said, the limited time). The over the top poop sfx was amazing but the second game had be a bit confused since there wasn't any form of instruction explaining the need of the bow.

Other than that though, pretty great game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! You’re totally right with the need for direction to find the bow. Although one conversation Seth and I had was that chance alone would dictate if someone were to find it. Looking back, although that idea fits the theme, it wasn’t explained nor does it make for good gameplay LOL. Anyway, thanks for playing :)

I absolutely love this game! It just has so much charm to it.

Developer

Thanks a bunch, Keeran! We're glad we pushed through and finished it.

The art and music makes the presentation of this game great! The sound effects especially makes the game really unique. Sadly the game feels very short, and it would benefit from having more games since its premise can be extended to an entire lifespan. Overall, solid game! Nice job!

Developer

Hey! Our original idea actually mapped out an entire lifespan, but time limited what we were able to accomplish and we ended up just doing those mini-game type ideas. I hope as Seth and I get more experienced with programming that we can make longer games that can explore an idea more! Thanks so much for the feedback!
