Swell in an ocean-y elevator kind of way! Loove the rhythm of it all!
Favorite parts:
-the lil tickets on the floor that just pile up
-the little windows that you can see out of and growing logs! such a fun way to explore while still in the same space the whole time
-that rhythm and atmosphere!

This game was super cool! Unfortunately at about 20km deep I died and in the white/green space where you can see the "godparent" I pressed escape and the game closed :(.

The oxygen/CO2 mechanic is pretty fun once you get used to how it works. Setting each one just right to try to offset one another made me feel smart, and the fire/hull breaches kept it interesting. The bestiary component with the journal and seeing creatures out the window was awesome, and once I got into the vibe/feeling of the game it was nice to read the history as it developed.

The probe camera effect was cool but I kind of wished I could go see the creatures up close with the same fidelity I could see out of the window.

All told I was just really impressed with the concept and everything you managed to get done in the time period. Awesome job!

I really really enjoyed playing this!

It's so exciting whenever I find new things and read the entries. The satisfaction of peeking out a porthole and finally seeing them is so fun, akin to being a kid again and discovering something you've never known before.  All the luminescence is delightful, both in and out of the bathysphere.

Interaction with the bathysphere and the environment through valves in levers is such a neat idea and I think it's executed well. Perhaps a more minute detail but I like being able to watch the valves spin and the indicators go up and down.

The method of dealing with fires is lit. Admittedly I'm not very good at it yet, I turn the valves way more than necessary. :.P

Making it to the bottom was really hecking cool, I hope I didn't miss too much of it with my frantic attempt to zoom to the bottom while the bathysphere's hull was breached and on fire.. I misplaced my nano tape.

Music being there was nice, I really liked how it sounded and I think it fit well. It helped me feel less nervous than I would have been otherwise.

I did end up getting one or two critters stuck in the bathysphere but I didn't mind it since it ended up feeling like they decided to join me on my journey. :.)

Thank you for sharing your game with me!!

Hey! I'd really like to play this but it's just giving me a black screen with sounds - am I missing some controls? (Windows)

Developer

That sounds like it’s probably an OpenGL error. What GPU do you have? The game requires OpenGL 3 and some older computers might not support that.

Hmm, my computer is from 2017 and seems to have up-to-date drivers. I'll try it on another computer and let you know.

Got it to run on my Mac! Will rate and review when I've had a chance to play it

Yay! Glad you got it working :)

Really sorry about that by the way :(

If you can’t get it to work on your computer, I can send you a version that uses older graphics drivers if the jam organizers are okay with that.
