console only appears when testing game, not in the final build. and you dont open console with ctrl+shift+anything.

hit the ` or ~ or whatever key is beside the number 1 and above the tab key on your keyboard.

i would like to allow my players to use the console and cheat in my games, but right now it is no go.

but noclip is a helluva help when mapping.

Unfortunately, above the TAB key, I can press any key and it will not display anything (I mean the completed games) I translated the manual into my native language, did everything according to the instructions, but nothing. I must be really lame then! :D Unfortunately I can only give you this picture of what I tried.

what kind of keyboard are you using, what language etc. different regional keyboards might have a different button layout

ok i see it is hungarian.

try AltGR + 1 or AltGR + 7

if that doesnt work try ALT + 126 on the numpad then release ALT. 1 2 6 should be press in sequence while alt is held down. that is the universal windows shortcut for ~

if that doesnt work then eat six hundred and sixty-six cheeseburgers, beat the speedrun record for Zelda Ocarina of Time with your hands tied behind your back. you will get the Triforce and can make a wish.

I tried it, but the suggested key combinations don't work.I'm slowly giving up, and then it'll just work sometime when I'm not expecting it. I have a Lenovo g50-45 laptop with a Hungarian keyboard.

ok i just looked up the hungarian keyboard layout.

does numpad 0 or 0 at the top numbers do it? skyrim wiki says that opens the console with hungarian keyboard for skyrim, which uses the same character.

other than that i got no idea. sorry.

I'll figure something out to get it to work.

Could you please show me a screenshot of what the console looks like? Thanks, and for all your help so far!

you can't make a final build of your game for your players to play that allows for cheats. it only works with the test executable, so i wouldn't stress if you can't get it to work. you are not really missing much.

Don't misinform him, console can be executed even in final build with "game.exe -console".

Thank you all for your help! I added "-console /" to the game shortcut properties and with AltGr + Ö I was able to bring up the console and enter the cheat codes. Wouldn't have thought it would work in a similar way to Half-life. :D
