A Summary Video of Minoan Greece

Something Minotaur Hotel has gotten me into is learning about Greek mythology, which is something I'm not too familiar with along with mythology from other cultures and the ancient Greek culture itself. Before playing MH, I didn't know about the island of Crete and the Minoan civilization. (I didn't pay that much attention to the details of the Minotaur mythology.) I found this video summary of Minoan Greece by Overly Sarcastic Productions which I enjoyed watching and learning about just how little we know about this bull based culture. I wanted to share it here for anyone else whose curiosity has been sparked by this game.

I am legally obligated to post the infamous video about Cretan fashion illustrated by Jojo-like characters.

Ooh! I like this video's deeper look at the ancient Minoan culture (as far as we're able to speculate). I didn't know the Minoans were so fabulous! There's a suggestion for Asterion outfits, ancient (even by his standards) Minoan kilt, codpiece and headdress.

You know, furry VNs get a bad rep for contriving circumstances where characters are scantily-clad often... But in out case there was a moment where we realized that Asterion's original Cretan clothes would be too fan service-y.

People might not get that at a first glance but we actually show less meat than the Cretans did.

Huh, the more you know :) would never had guessed the loincloth was considered decent compared to the real life comparison

Yeah, that is hilarious that possibly historical and cultural clothing would be more revealing than probably most ideas one can think of for Asterion to be dressed in. Since we are dealing with a Greek telling of a myth about Crete, it's likely safe to assume that by King Minos' (the second) rule may have had more of its culture influenced by the mainland. Hypothetical ancient Minoan cloths for Asterion still sounds like a fun unlock as a much later result of completing Asterion's project somehow. Asterion could be excited to share reading he's done with the MC about the archeology of Crete and the hypothesis of the much older time than the people of his time could ever recall. The Linear A era. The MC would wonder what Asterion would look like in an outfit like that and, hell, maybe also have the MC try it on for Asterion and they can joke about how revealing it is. Though I'm not sure Asterion would actually wear that outside of their apartment.

I gave a look at my Youtube history and found some other documentaries I watched. Hopefully they are fun to you (nerds) too!

As a bonus, two about Athens and Sparta:

These are a fun watch! The British presenter is also a delight to listen to.

*Spoiler*
This got me wondering of the shrine to the unknown god that Asterion set up among the Olympian ones in the Valley is to the Snake Goddess or some other Cretan Goddess based in nature or life whose name has long been lost.
