Use of assets from the game we have chosen

Hi, I wanted to know if we are allowed to use assets from the game we have chosen.

In my case the game has a background noise of a city (so just wind, train, ...) and it would be annoying (and impossible for me) to make it by myself. It is not a music and I guess it has no copyrights, it's just some city noise.

And if we are not allowed, are we allowed to use assets if we modify them ? For example, changing a sprite, changing a sound effect to sound older.

The assets have to be done from scratch.

Ok, thanks for the reply.

You can use free assets available for personal/commercial projects, but you can't use assets from the original game, due they have copyright.

In your game need to be inspired, with another name tittle,etc... as the official page says.

I was also wondering about free assets, thanks for details.

Similar question, but would 'demaking' music be allowed? Like making an 8-bit version of a song from the game, or would it have to be an original song?

I've done two entries, and one of them is entirely a demake of music.

Better do own music or use some free music / CC0 license or any other you bought or similar better.
