Hello everyone! This is a thread to talk about the super awesome games you'll be submitting to the jam! What is it about? What kind of heads will we see?  Do you need any help with coming up with ideas?😄

Awiola and I will be submitting our own visual novel to the jam! Due to the story, the less you know about it the better, but it'll involve some spoopy pumpkin heads~

Well, if no one else is going to start... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The game's called Syndication Rites and it's shaping up to be an exploration/adventure/puzzle romp with comedy-horror elements.

In the game, you play as Samara Gunn, the daughter of a heavy mental legend that mysteriously dies. She follows (very circumstantial) clues regarding his death to the Dover family, the subject of reality TV show on the same network that aired her father's own reality show. Samara ends up being knocked out and awakens in a ceremony that she escapes from...only to discover that her head has turned into a TV set! Samara finds herself in a twisted web of reality TV cabals, occult ceremonies, and oh so so much social commentary...

A main part of the game is actually using your TV head to interact with your environment. For example, by hooking yourself up to a VCR in the green room, you can "play" tapes and enter mini-levels of sorts. (For example, popping in an episode of "Leave It To Barbara" sends to a mini 1950's sitcom-esque level.)

Sounds awesome! I love when in object headed games, you get to use your head to solve puzzles.

Oh my god...this so made my day. :)

Well, I have a game that I did start back in June, but since using this jam to finish other projects is okay in the rules I figure I'll submit it here.  I didn't get very far with it, and I desperately need an outside force setting a due date or else it won't get finished.  ^^;

Its a mystery/sci-fi visual novel about a robot trying to solve a mystery on a high-tech cruise ship.  The player takes on the role of his human assistant.  The story does change based on player choice: there's four different possible culprits depending on player choice, and the robot detective will change his style to balance yours (if you're aggressive, he'll be gentle, and vice versa).  All of my robots are object-headed: the detective has a camera lens, a waiter has a tv head, and a lifeguard has a blow dryer head.  The whole thing is based on a couple of really surreal dreams that I had.

It’s a secret! Although I can say that the main character loses something important to them we need to find. Will be pretty simple though.

hi! my game is called dr yue's dream hospital, a visual novel about a rabbit plush-headed girl coming to a sleep clinic to help solve her sleeplnessness and otherwise blank dreams. i'm basing it on my own nightmares/traumas and my struggles with mental health. i'm hoping to use the characters being object heads as reflections of themselves, whether it be the famed dr. yue with pills for a face or the pillow-shaped receptionist that tries to be comforting but is only so on the outside!

Planning to do a simple little visual novel/dating sim thing! Protag wishes on a star to go on a date with someone and gets their wish granted by a precocious shooting star.

Starting very late. I'm just going to make a simple 1-weekend physics-based VR game, where the player has a hammer as a head, have a room full of different wood pieces, and a box of nails. The player can grab/manipulate pieces of wood or nails, and nail things together by swinging their hammer head.

i'm lovin' it.
