While the game has some fun mechanics, I second what was being said about "no goal", although you do mention, that it's just a "proof of concept".

  • Good thing you've made the temperature meter freeze, because the Fahrenheits don't tell me much xd However, the meter still doesn't reset if I freeze, so I have to re-run the game to play again.
  • Combat is kinda difficult, because of how fast and small the projectiles are, but this is more of a statement than criticism.
  • When the enemies chase me around the building, the front walls cover them.
  • No sound!

The game is really polished in the current state, the only problems I see are that there really isn't a goal expect not to die -> maybe add a highscore or other goals

The art was simplistic but looked good enough.

In conclusion it has much potential keep working on it. :)

The game art style is really good. I managed to snipe most bandits with no resistance whatsoever. I managed to figure out your temperature rise when you are inside but at first, I was looking for a fire to keep warm so I panicked for a little when I did not find it. Also, I am Egyptian and we do not use Fahrenheit, I do not know if I could toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius as I was too focused on surviving. Of course, the shaking and slow freezing of the temperature indicator saved me. Great polished game but I think it can go further. Also, some ambient music and sound effects and some punch with the rifle will make combat slightly better.

Thanks so much for playing and for your comments!

Hi there! Here are some comments about your game!

-body temp doesnt reset when resetting from game over

-teach me how to raise my body temp at the beginning took me a bit to figure out.

-permanent upgrades might be fun so I can see how much further I can take it on my next run! Perhaps add a "distance" away from center as a score and procedurally generate some enemy bases and such or custom design it but make it feel expansive! I really like the setting of the game!

-Is there sound? It would add a ton if you get sound in the game! Wind howling, feet crunching in the snow!

-Make your bullets bigger. I can hardly tell when I am getting shot at and where my own bullets are going.

-I really like the art style of the game!

-I really liked the setting it felt like an arctic wasteland where I wouldn't know how far I needed to go to get to the next "base"

I assume all of this was done this month? Really great progress I think you can expand this into something great!

This is awesome feedback, thanks so much! Yes, all of this was made in a month. I honestly ran out of time and realized I never added a proper tutorial! There’s no sound yet either.

I’m still trying to find the core gameplay loop here. I have this problem where I come up with cool mechanics > gameplay. The body temperature itself is cool, but the game needs to be designed around it better! Thanks for your help!

Thanks a lot for your comment! It’s definitely more of a playground than a “game” right now. You’re right there is no way to win yet, I’m still trying to decide where I want to go with this project. Thanks again for trying it out
