This is one of the first comments/reviews I've ever left on any game. Found you through a Mohrta trailer on my YT front page yesterday and I decided to look at your other works out of curiosity.

I haven't played Doom since I was a kid although I thoroughly enjoy Quake, but they seem distinct/independent enough from each other in my head. The aesthetic of not only this game, but everything else you've worked on too, is amazing and the level design was so good! For someone more experienced, this game might be easier but for me it was a thorough drag through hell itself. Genuinely harder than the Soulsborne series to the point where it took me 8 hours on and off from start to finish and a few meltdowns.

I'm proud to say that I ran through it in one day and I think it's safe to say you've earned yourself a new dedicated fan! Fucking christ I am BEYOND EXCITED to go through the rest of your catalogue over the coming months!

thanks man, hope you enjoy!

I liked it, nice game

Gameplay starts at 2:07:54.

A very entertaining Doom-clone with a neat cartoony-eldritch horror direction and some fun sound effects. Also surprisingly decently challenging in parts.  Looking forward to playing the sequel and finishing up this first one, sometime.

This game is fun, I had quite a lot of fun with it.

hey i was working on making your gzdoom packs work together nicely and thought id give a response here.

it seems that lycanthorn, lycanthorn2, and vomitoreum are using the same ipk3 structure as shrine.  shrine 2 uses a different structure but its all fundamentally the same. (config)

also it seems your gzdoom is 149mb which i suppose includes all the libraries, where as gzdoom official v4.5.0 is only 14mb possibly relying on the system libraries. (dynamic vs static linked libraries)

i can understand why you'd package them all for compatibility sake, but libjpeg.so and libzmusiclite.so arent required in those cases. (or atleast in my case)

so first of all we can remove the included gzdoom's "game_support.pk3" because it only points to regular doom game wads.

next you dont need gzdoom's soundfont because your games arent using midi (gzdoom.sf2)

some slight tweaking to your file names and repacking a new iwadinfo.txt into all of your ipk3 and we get some fancy compatibility in one single directory:

anyhow this is a pretty long topic, will just say i modified a few things to all work from one directory with one single launcher

awesome gzdoom project look forward to your newest creations

Oh wow, thank you for sharing this, this will be helpful on my own Doom engine game and I would love to help my friends I'm getting into standalone Doom mods launch all of them from one central hub!!

Currently, the Linux download does not show up in the itch client. Looks good, though!

First of all, this is amazing work. Second of all, you just introduced me to the world of Doom mods and I had no idea how amazing they could be! Thank you scumhead!

There are some really REALLY impressive Doom mods out there. This one is great, but there are some that blow this out of the water.

It's a lot of work to sort through them all, I've not yet found a good place recommending the best ones

Well it really depends on what you're looking for exactly. If you want to tell me your tastes though I could help point you in the right direction. I have a LOT of experience with everything oldschool DOOM.

Thanks skdursh, really appreciated. I've tried and enjoyed Brutal Doom and Brutal Wolfenstein, but I'm really interested in mods that present a whole new game, like this one of course, as well as Rise of the Wool Ball, The Adventures of Square, Aliens Trilogy etc. anything that is really different and stretches the Doom engine's capabilities.

Well you should absolutely check out Blade of Agony https://github.com/Realm667/WolfenDoom. It's one of the most extensive total conversions around and they are just about ready to release the 3rd episode for it. It already has dozens of hours of content and is incredibly well done. Besides that you can find Memoirs of Magic https://strawberryoctii.itch.io/memoirs-of-magic right here on Itch and I also highly recommend most things made by Batandy (Castlevania Simon's Destiny and Golden Souls series https://batandy.itch.io/), Ashes 2063 https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=47573 and it's expansion Dead Man Walking https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=62707 plus the upcoming sequel Ashes Afterglow (there is a demo which is really good, but it's only a few hours long right now and the full release is just around the corner). There are literally dozens upon dozens of solid TC's out there. I recommend you browse through the ZDoom forums total conversion subforum and see what you find  https://forum.zdoom.org/viewforum.php?f=19. Beyond that there is one other total conversion I HIGHLY recommend, but it's a TC of Duke Nukem 3D called AMC TC. It has so much to it I can't even begin to explain it all here, but definitely check out the Moddb page for it when you have a chance. https://www.moddb.com/games/the-amc-tc/ It's a standalone game so all you should need to do is download, extract and start playing.

A few others I recommend:

hi! is does this game support gamepad?

Not super sure, it does sort of the bare minimum. I'd recommend fiddling with the settings a bit to see how you like it.

Ok thank you

how do i change the turning speed? or turning sensitivity?
