Now I'm slightly sad to have had the twist spoiled on stream because it was a doozy!

That said, it's well-written, with actually a lot of clever foreshadowing that I didn't catch until subsequent playthroughs.

I agree with everyone that said this deserves a complete game with the same battle mechanics - it's a unique experience that is well-executed given the scope of the game, and it just makes me want to explore the concept in greater depth.

TBH I think the sidekick doesn't need their own attack skill as I only ever used it in their tutorial battle, but it's possible there are uses I didn't see.

Not sure if I would have liked some of the fights to go up in difficulty a half step or not - it's better to err on the side of "easy" for Jam games, so maybe it's fine. I was just itching for more complex encounters by the end :)

Really happy that you keyed in on the foreshadowing. I don't think anyone mentioned it yet, but it was subtle so why would they? So you got some spoilers, but also some insight into the clues I tried to leave.

Good point about the single Chonker attack. There is really just one single instance where it is the optimal strategy, and I ran out of time to implement other uses.

Not surprised you want a tougher system, given your punishingly challenging entry.  The enemies were probably 1 step harder when I first made the game, but I dropped the difficulty based on feedback. Balancing that is so hard!

Agreed! Balancing is where I spent the majority of my time once the basic systems were set up. It's always a tough call but I do think you made the correct decision ease up on challenge, my personal preferences aside.

Kudos again on the writing. The TMNT reference was great, and the small clues that it wasn't just another fantasy setting paid off IMO.
