I had a ton of fun with this one.

I just recently booted up Crypt of the Necrodancer for the first time and this works very similar with some nice quality of life improvements:

  • No input on any given beat doesn't officially drop your combo so you don't feel constantly pressured to push a button.
  • Restart on the level you died so there's no need to "grind" through earlier levels to get to the difficulty that you first found challenging.
  • Simplified controls that don't require multiple inputs to do more complex things.

The soundtrack is also quite good and not too heavy to keep your heart from racing the whole time you're playing so thanks for that.

If I were to suggest anything I'd say the enemy sprites could possibly use some love. Not that they were bad, because they matched the overall aesthetic well, but it'd be nice to see them interact with the constantly changing light colors a bit more to just make them feel more like a highlight of the party or something.
