Hoo boy this is a big file! I came over from the other thread because your game seems cool! I think the barrier of entry from the fact that it is downloadable and multiple gigabytes might be the reason this game is having trouble getting traction. The graphics and menu on this game are really well done! I especially like how you stumble around in the dark before you find a light switch. I did a spoiler-free playthrough, and I was unable to make it out of the first room unfortunately. I think I kept on running out of time on the steam engine? The reset was disorienting and I thought that I bugged the game or something by picking up the shovel lmao. Anyways, I fiddled with the switch on the wall, put coal and paper in the steam engine and tried to light it with a match and nothing happened. The switch didn't seem to do anything either. Definitely seems like you got a cool game here, but I think you need to limit the amount of options available to the player until they get their bearings in the game!

Thank you for checking out!
Yes seems like there is not enough input for players in the first room. I think you are correct, the steam is running out in the first room too fast and there must be a few hints to help the player with what he supposed to do. Once first room learned, other areas is pretty easy)
