Absolutely wonderful game so far, the writing is phenomenal, the art style is cute and unique (been a fan of Shiuk for a long while, mostly what drew me into the game), and overall this is fantastic! I'm so excited to see where the story goes

Another deep philosophical question: I've played a couple of VNs in my day and what I see (sometimes as a little easter egg in the game) is the creator's view on criticism. A lot of them talk about how people usually just say the game was just "good" and not going in-depth. I haven't played this VN long enough to leave that good a review and this isn't even finished yet (I understand a game can be criticized without being finished). So in relation to this oversized comment, how many people do you usually get just saying this VN or other projects are "good". I've read through these other comments and they have been rather thoughtful and well crafted.
I'll admit, in our itch reviews, we do get a lot of reviews saying the game was good, or without any explanation of what they liked or in some cases we've gotten a couple 1-stars with 0 explanation on why we received those 1-star reviews. Was it the art? The genre? The story-pacing itself? I'll never know and will just have to take that rating hit as it is
That said, I don't expect novels of responses from everyone, because that in itself is a wholly unrealistic expectation. People who want to support the game will either leave 5* ratings, or comments on our page, our support us on Patreon, or they won't. I work on this project expecting nothing in return, but hope for good feedback so that I can improve myself, as well as produce the best product for the audience that keeps coming back for it.
All of that being said, that doesn't mean we haven't gotten good feedback. We have, I already have standing notes of things we need to work on moving forward, some of them are more pressing, and some take time to change, but we're doing what we can.
EDIT: I realize you were referring to our comment section, to be honest I've never actually taken the time to actually analyze how much constructive feedback we've received in the comment section specifically. I'm sure if I dig back though I'd find a few good nuggets which is all I can really ask for.
That's a good mentality to have as a game developer or a developer in general. You can't let negative criticism bring you down because that's what it is, criticism. Unless something crazy happens in the future that is totally unexpected, I think you've got a good future in making stuff on this site. But also keep in mind I have no idea what is happening behind the scenes so I wouldn't know of any other struggles you're having. That being said good luck. Sorry if this sounded cringy.

Just downloaded the 4.4 build, it opened up, but all the words seemed to be more like scratches, or static tilted diagonally. Only after taking a closer look did I notice that all text appeared to be italicized maybe 20 times more than usual? It's to the point where the text gets clipped because it's skewed out of its own frame. Not sure what's causing this, especially since no one else seems to be having a similar issue. Also, I have tried downloading the game again, nothing happened, and I tried both the standard and 32 bit, same effect. I got a ton of other games to play, so this is no skin off my back, I'm more genuinely confused as to what is even going on. Have a good day, and we love bi people!
You're not alone on this issue, we've received 1 screenshot though truth be told, we have no idea what's causing it as we're unable to replicate it on our own systems.
If you could possibly send us your OS information, perhaps we might have a clue that will be able to get us to the root of the issue. I'm sorry for the inconvenience though, and we're trying to figure this out best we can.
I'm currently running Windows 7 Home Premium. (I got an absolute dinosaur ik.) And after I stumbled on the other comment (the one with the photo) I noticed they said they used Windows 8. Maybe it's an issue with old OS's? If it helps at all, transition images seem to be affected too, so it's not purely text. (Which tosses out my theory that it's italicized a million times over, parts of the images are being directly manipulated.) Shoot back with any information I can help you guys get, I'm getting more and more curious about this!

We released an update just a few days ago. Updates are always on the last Saturday of the month, the public build won't be getting updated this month due to a change in our patreon model, so for non-patrons the next update is at the end of March.
Okay I just speed runned through Quinn's route and I have *SLIGHT spoilers concerning a typo* When Zoe goes to hand out whoevers phone number you don't have I says she only gives you Elliot's, but if you look in the conversation it shows Jude's and Quinn's numbers which we already got earlier.
Not really in my opinon. It would just make the Hyena at the gym queer, which it's fine if he's not, I just mentally put that together through my speed playthrough of Elliot's route.
I have a concerning thing to tell you. I ran into an error page ya know the type you can press ignore and keep going. Well apparently it wiped all my save files from before the message and every time I tried saving again it brought the sam error message back, couldn't even save before it pops up. I'll try and restart the game and pray otherwise I'll go through Aiden's route by speeding and go through Jude's route with the perfect choices I am figuring out lmao. If you need to know I am running the game on a windows laptop. I don't know if other types of pc's or phones will run into this problem.
If you could provide us more details of line and such of the error message, that would be very beneficial. Where you were in the routes, what specifically you did, etc. Screenshots would also be good.
I'll try and provide you with context around the area, but I won't be able to provide screen shots at least not on my laptop, I'm a bit inept lmao, I could test out the phone version and see if it shows up there. if not I'll send the text immediately before the error page :3
Apologies, but I didn't run into the error a second time when I skipped through the dialogue to see if it would pop up. I am 90% sure the error occured after mason said he would keep to the 'date' plans with Elliot. It might be best for now if anyone experiences the same thing in the future to advise them to not start freaking out until quitting and reloading their game.
Okay so I restarted the game and it fixed the issue, but I don't think I saved the end of Elliot's route. But in case more people run into this problem and a patch hasn't come out yet. You could reccommend that they try and restart their game before panicing.
So Rook, you said you have been giving little hints at what Mason's powers are every update. Does the patreon subscribers have a better chance of figuring it out. That's fine because they are financially supporting the development of this game. Also if I guess it correctly can I get a cookie lmao.

Unless you're on the development team you have been given 0 additional hints on his ability outside of what is in each build. (Assuming I and nobody else lets any details and such slip on our patron discord server... which we haven't yet and hopefully never will.)
*Slight spoilers concerning a typo* When Zoe incessently texts the mc to tell them that she is coming back to help Quinn collect his things. For a brief moment you can see the texts above and if you customized the name for the mc the original name "mason" shows up. It's a tiny discrepency in coding and it doesn't need to be fixed immediately, but it was something I observed. Your game is a very wonderful experience to play through and I hope to see it through to the end. HOPEFULLY no one has to die lmao. The mysterious text at the end of each day worries me lmao
I haven't noticed caught any other grammatical errors. So I am quite impressed. Usually I spot like one or two typos, but whoever looks over the script is very thorough and I give my thanks to them lmao.
Discord integration means that if you have "Show Game Activity" enabled on your Discord, then it shows a Rich Presence embed with information about your current playthrough, like how long you've been playing, where in the VN you are, which route you're on, etc. It's just a fun little extra. But I also know that some people don't want their Discord to show that they're playing a furry game, so I added the option to disable it, even though they could disable it directly on their Discord settings.
The current switch is kinda bad. Next build I intend to have a much better and more visible switch for this integration, and then it'll be disabled by default.
Hey Rook how can I listen to Hugh's music besides truning the VN on and going to the specific time where the music starts? Cuz I adore the music that's in it, I might even say it's some of my fav tracks! Send Hugh some love from me if there's no other way to listen to their songs aight?

I'll try and restart the game and pray otherwise I'll go through Aiden's route by speeding and go through Jude's route with the perfect choices I am figuring out lmao. If you need to know I am running the game on a windows laptop. I don't know if other types of pc's or phones will run into this problem.
If you could provide us more details of line and such of the error message, that would be very beneficial. Where you were in the routes, what specifically you did, etc. Screenshots would also be good.

Apologies, but I didn't run into the error a second time when I skipped through the dialogue to see if it would pop up. I am 90% sure the error occured after mason said he would keep to the 'date' plans with Elliot. It might be best for now if anyone experiences the same thing in the future to advise them to not start freaking out until quitting and reloading their game.
Okay so I restarted the game and it fixed the issue, but I don't think I saved the end of Elliot's route. But in case more people run into this problem and a patch hasn't come out yet. You could reccommend that they try and restart their game before panicing.
So Rook, you said you have been giving little hints at what Mason's powers are every update. Does the patreon subscribers have a better chance of figuring it out. That's fine because they are financially supporting the development of this game. Also if I guess it correctly can I get a cookie lmao.

Though I have complicated feelings cause I always feel like I'm cheating on the original one I went with lmfaooo; even when I can't choose the name >.<. Hope to hear back from you. Unless you're on the development team you have been given 0 additional hints on his ability outside of what is in each build. (Assuming I and nobody else lets any details and such slip on our patron discord server... which we haven't yet and hopefully never will.)
*Slight spoilers concerning a typo* When Zoe incessently texts the mc to tell them that she is coming back to help Quinn collect his things. For a brief moment you can see the texts above and if you customized the name for the mc the original name "mason" shows up. It's a tiny discrepency in coding and it doesn't need to be fixed immediately, but it was something I observed. Your game is a very wonderful experience to play through and I hope to see it through to the end. HOPEFULLY no one has to die lmao. The mysterious text at the end of each day worries me lmao

I haven't noticed caught any other grammatical errors. So I am quite impressed. Usually I spot like one or two typos, but whoever looks over the script is very thorough and I give my thanks to them lmao.

it's on by default but i have no idea what it would do.
i don't remember doing anything to set up anything with discord for the game.
Discord integration means that if you have "Show Game Activity" enabled on your Discord, then it shows a Rich Presence embed with information about your current playthrough, like how long you've been playing, where in the VN you are, which route you're on, etc. It's just a fun little extra. But I also know that some people don't want their Discord to show that they're playing a furry game, so I added the option to disable it, even though they could disable it directly on their Discord settings.
