Anyone know any games about manipulating the environment?

I'm looking for games, preferably small/experimental platformers that are based around manipulating the world/environment more so than yourself. Anyone know any?

I think there was one called YANDERE.EXE but I'm not sure.

You might wanna check out Scanner Sombre. Basically a game about painting in the environment around you. Heres a gameplay: https://youtu.be/fgxBZ6aCO3s

Sorry for asking,

Do you refer to games that can alter the terrain layer in a platformer? Like Noita or the old Worms? Terraria...? Things like that, in 2D? Or in 3D, like 'From Dust'?

But with smaller in scale or experimental do you mean prototypes and not full fledged games?

Cheers!

Asking's no problem at all :)

Scale wise I don't mind, I've been considering make a game where rather than the player getting upgrades, they gain control over the world instead, so I was just wondering if anyone had any games that do anything interesting with the idea of modifying the world that I could learn from.

For instance, I played a game where you turned on sprinklers which restores plants to the environment, and I think some of the plants would act as platforms and such.

I hope these are of some use to you.

Ypu mean how Sim City or Rollercoaster Tycoon, Populus allowed you to sculpt the world?

The def you are looking for  is non-euclidean games, this video explains it:

Altough not a platformer terraria is a great game that makes you always be on your feet trying to keep your world away from getting corrupted and swallowed in a hollow biome, it forces the player to make excevations and big builds just for the sake of keeping the world good and feel polished.
