Awesome game! Great writing. Reminded me of PT, but slightly more palatable for a fragile minded individual such as myself. At one point I thought you had made the game loop, and was going to quit before I saw you had adjusted the language slightly. Just enough to allude to time moving forwards. I did not think I would get into this as much as I did, but I was immersed for 20+ minutes. Really well executed!

Glad you enjoyed it! There is actually a part right at the beginning that can loop indefinitely depending on what choice a player makes but even if people get into that loop I would expect that most would make a different decision at the loop point when they get to it again, which would push them out of the loop permanently.

Wonderfully paced and clever plot. The audio and visual elements helped the atmosphere a ton. I was so worried it was going to end in a jumpscare and I'm so thankful it didnt while still remaining scary.

I have a friend who apparently did get a fright but I intentionally didn't do any audio jump-scare stuff because I think that's just a cheap tactic. I hate it when movies do it.

haha, an endearing game.

I like the format the game is presented in, and some very clever storytelling. I even felt some suspense and intrigue due to the good mixture of visuals and audio.

Nothing really comes to mind in terms of fixes / minor improvements that wouldn't be considered feature creep, its a well contained game that delivers.

Additional features I could suggest are a chapter select system, overview of the branching choices, completionist bonus, secrets.

Well done, its a great entry!

I did have some ideas for some of the bits of the game that you are only really pointed to at the beginning  but I couldn't do what I wanted to in time. I decided early on (a lesson from previous jams - be mindful of scope and keep reducing it as you go) that it would be better to ensure that I finished the game so I made sure I made something that someone could play to the end and have a proper experience with, while my other ideas went out of the window for lack of time.

Interesting little story, I quite liked the way the note changed its message by having faded letters. The ending made me chuckle

I enjoyed this so much! The pacing was excellent, there weren't 'cop-out' loops. Thank you for the experience and a well-written story. I am always sceptical of graphics in a text adventure but these added. 

I'll definitely play any more of your interactive fiction pieces if you put them up :)

Thanks so much. I have been working on a series of really short adventure/action/comedyish games called the Tiny Adventure games, which have multiple paths and multiple endings but they are designed to be played very quickly and more than once. I've posted two already, which you can see on my profile page, and I'm working on more. If you follow me you'll be notified of when I post them. They're different to this game - they're a very fixed, small format by design, whereas this one was more horror and intentionally longer because I wanted to experiment with a different kind of interactive fiction for this jam. I also have other Twine projects in the works that are, again, different but there's no ETA for them anytime soon.

Ok, I was pretty excited to play this and was not disappointed.

[SPOILERS BELOW]

That feeling of walking thorugh the door for the first time and realising I'm in the same / similar room gave me some kind of chills. Is there a word for that sudden realisation that all is not what it seems?

I thought the sound and glyphs added a ton of atmosphere to this, great choices.  

I'm not the most patient player and usually want to skip through reading in most games but this was concise and intriguing enough to keep me engaged the whole time.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. I know people find interactive fiction difficult because of the text so I try to write tightly to speed the action along and it's great to hear that it kept you hooked!

Awesome title! Good job with this one. :) Great writing.

I'm not a fan of reading but I pushed through to the end. Enjoyed the twist too!

 

I would of preferred more visuals to go with the story but that's just me. The story was tight and felt complete for what is was. Great feeling of mystery. :)

Writing is hard and it takes a long time. I would have loved to have added more art but the bulk of the time went to refining the story and making sure it always made sense no matter what variations of the path players took, that players could get to the end, and that there were no inconsistencies or dead ends.
