You shouldn't need to request your money if the payment mode is set direct-to-you. Double-check your settings. Look in the Payouts tab on your dashboard, too.

When requesting a payout manually, you need to request $5 or more, otherwise Itch won’t let you get the money (I assume it’s for transaction fees, but there can be numerous reasons).
I do not know if when you set the payments as “direct for you”, that minimum amount is also enforced, in which case money wouldn’t reach your account until there’s at least $5.
