Sorry - not the actual metal sniffing. I meant that figuratively.

Essentially control Rooter - tell him to go into that "back of jet" thing (as I describe it) on the first screen in the scrap yard (to be clear - not where you get Mule, but the next screen - next to the Carbonite George Lucas).

Once you're "there" - get something - then actually use the metal sniffer to get something else.

That said, move Mule down to the next section before doing this (I found this helps preventing the Eternal Mouse Spin when you use Rooter to get something over there).

There is a spot inside the "back of the jet" thing where Rooter stops and sniffs for a while, but...  that's about it. Once again, no textual warnings, no character saying anything, none of the things in the inventory do anything on that spot.

You have to control Rooter - then click on the back of that jet area. He should jump in.

OK, that was ABSOLUTELY unguessable. What I will find up there was quite guessable because Ace mentions something about that earlier if you use "look" action on that spot. But the fact that I need to send Rooter in there... how the hell was I supposed to guess that? That spot is absolutely indistinct, just another spot amongst the piles of trash to the naked eye,

Heh. What's funny is the first play through - I saw that "opening" and it immediately reminded me of the vent (back on Nostradamus) and so the first thing I did was switch to Rooter and click the walk icon there - and in he went. (He also goes in if you use his "nose" icon).

So I didn't even get the chance to think of "Hey, use Rooter's head to try and grab the pipe."

I took a bit time for me as well to figure that out. I do hope that is because of how poorly the examine responses are working at the moment and not because they actually forgot to write something a bit more helpful there.  There are spots I've basically brute forced myself through instead of genuinely figuring how to do stuff because of the lack of responses.

There's nothing to show that the spot is interactive at all.
