i couldn't get out the desert :/ i talked to the guy at the gate and he keep telling me i gotta b safe. went in and out the house a bunch talking to the characters and tried to go up the road too.
You have go back to your dad and talk about safety, by selecting the second option in the panel the opens up when you interact with characters.
