sorry, but it feels like a one prompt AI slop
Fair enough - the assets and code were AI-assisted, and that's declared up front, so I'm not going to argue with the label.
What I'd genuinely like to know: does it play badly, or does it just look that way? If the core loop is flat, that's on me and I want to fix it.
If it's only the presentation, that's a different problem.
Either way, thanks for actually looking at it.
I gave it another go just now, there's no clear indication on what to do, the getting started is a lot of text - you should steer it towards visual indicators, I can't understand the core loop yet, its hard to get past the initial 2min. Can you answer what is the compelling part of the first 5 min to hook and continue to play?
This is genuinely useful - thank you for giving it a second go and writing out what tripped you up.
You're right about the wall of text. The tutorial explains systems before you've had a reason to care about them, which is backwards. I'm going to strip it down and lean on on-screen cues instead.
On your actual question: I don't think I have a good answer yet, and I think that's the real problem. The intended loop is "place a building, watch rent tick up, reinvest" - but if that isn't landing in the first two minutes, saying it louder won't fix it. I need to find a hook that's visible without reading anything.
I don't want to promise a date I can't keep. But your two comments have been more useful than anything I've gotten so far, so thank you for taking the time.
