Hi, sorry I didn't respond sooner, I've been busy.
But I just wanted to confirm that I'm still having the black screen issue. I can hear the game audio, and move through the menu with the keyboard controls (the game is running fine), but the screen is just pure black and I can't see what's happening. I first had this happen in the Easter Demo. I just downloaded the current demo to see if the issue was fixed, but same black screen.
Pressing ALT + ENTER to escape fullscreen does not fix the issue, the window is still black.
My system is a Surface Pro 2, and here's some relevant specs:
- Windows 10 Pro (10.0.18362)
- Surface Pro 2
- 4 GB RAM
- Display: 1920 x 1080
- Processor: 4th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-4300U
- 2 cores
- CPU @ 1.90 GHz
- Processor speed: 2494 MHz
- Graphics: Intel® HD Graphics 4400
- Graphics Output Protocol (GOP) Version: 5.5.1032
- Shader Version 5.0
- OpeGL Version 4.3
- OpenCL Version 1.2
- DirectX Version 12.0
- DirectX (Hardwared supported version) 11.1
- RAM: 4GB (1600 MHz LPDDR3 RAM)
I know lots of games tend to have issues with Intel Graphics. I believe the chip is called a "dedicated graphics" or "integrated graphics" card. If I recall correctly, its an combo CPU/GPU designed to reduce heat and space in small tablet-form computers.
When I first ran the game (the Easter Build) I was able to actually see the screen. But after closing the game and reopening it later, it's been black ever since. So I know that the game CAN run on my machine, but something happened (maybe a Windows update?) in the background to break it. I haven't had this happen on any other games, even other Unity games, so I can't really say what it is exactly that is the problem.
Where does Alisa store save data on Windows machines? I wonder if deleting the save directory might solve the issue, or maybe tamper with the game's graphic settings manually in notepad or something.
EDIT: So just to be clear, the "Made with Unity" screen and the "Casper Croes" screen do display properly. It's after that screen, the cursor changes to the "hourglass" icon briefly, then disappears. After that, the game window turns black, and stays black. I can hear the audio and game input works on the menu, but nothing displays.
That might help you figure out where something is going wrong.
