Hi,

I really enjoyed my time with the game. The entry into the game is smooth and the menu is immediately clear and easy to understand.

Intro

The intro videos have a “Next” button on the right side. I watched the videos completely, but once a video has finished, it would be convenient to have a large “Next” button appear closer to the center of the screen. This would make progressing through the intro a little more comfortable without having to move the cursor all the way to the side.

Gameplay

The tutorial does a great job of explaining the gameplay, which is simple and intuitive.

In the first level, I clicked a koala on the right side and a large green arrow briefly appeared. It looked as if I had clicked the arrow, even though it wasn’t visible before my click. It didn’t seem to have any negative effect, but it was a little confusing.

The information banners at the bottom of the screen were more noticeable to me. They temporarily cover an area where I might still be searching, so I sometimes had to wait for them to disappear.

Since these seem to represent the discovered koala’s thoughts, I think displaying them close to the koala could work really well – maybe even as a little thought bubble. When I discover a koala, my attention is already focused on that part of the image, so having to look down at a short-lived banner feels slightly disconnected. A thought bubble could also fit the relaxed and dreamy style of the game nicely.

I especially like how sections of the image become colored as you progress. It’s a great way to communicate progress, looks beautiful, and at the same time gives the player a subtle hint about where to continue searching.

Audio & Art

The music fits the theme very well and isn’t distracting. When I specifically paid attention to it for this review, I noticed that the reggae loop seemed quite short. I’m not sure if the music changes later, but if the same short loop continues for a long time, it might become repetitive.

The sound effects fit very well too.

Overall, I really like the artwork and how well everything comes together with the controls, music, and sounds. It feels cohesive and very charming.

A very enjoyable game all around – Steam wishlist added!

I wish you all the best with the release and marketing of the game. I hope it finds the audience it deserves!

This is a really detailed review and I'm very thankful for it! I've written notes about things to improve, and some of them we're already working on (thought bubble, for example).

Will give your game a go as well and see if I can contribute :)
