There was one main issue holding me back from adding more game mechanics in:

I'm a one man team and it didn't seem reasonable to extend the scope out too far and sacrifice the simplicity of what's already there. There were different attributes. Ham and discs give you the most points, different objects have different levels of bounciness and the size variety means certain things are more likely to stick in your throat. I felt like anything past that would take too much time away from play testing and refining. I didn't want to go with the idea of having some foods being beneficial and other detrimental as, though it would be more intuitive, it would sacrifice the mood I was going for. I am planning to add small effects to eating foods but nothing too noticeable.
