I assume that means it's on PC ... I don't know why it would erase a save, unless it happens during saving which only takes a split second. I haven't heard of that happening before because the time window for it would be so small.
I've never heard of the problem before, so I'll see if anyone else has but you can always make a back-up of your saves by going into %appdata% and looking for moncurse
