What about the terror/NSFW/LGBTQIA+ slop? I'm very tired of always having those on front page.

Way more annoying than AI slop.

There are several games that deal with these topics in elegant enjoyable way. But it's discrepant the amount of slop on these topics. People who just want to bait queer people and don't care about providing any meaningful message with their stuff.

Slop is slop. AI isn't an exception. I bet you won't be willing to say "ohh we should ban games if they have more than 20% of naked characters sprites" or if "more than 20% of gameplay is jumpscares" or "if more than 50% of the characters are LGBTQIA+".

Let users curate that. Hopefully the "reverse filter" will help us with that.

itch.io staff could also add a "User Tags" feature so we can add tags on top of creators' tags so we can avoid mischievous tagging (like games clearly made with AI but tagged otherwise).

Shut up and stop forcing your sexual orientation on others.

Nah, calmdown snowflake. I deliberately said there are good games on these topics.

Disable your nsfw setting. Nsfw is opt in. If you see those games on the front page, it will be your recommendation section on the front page. Itch does not feature nsfw games in their fresh and hand picked section.

User tags are a fine idea, but there is a huge problem there. About 1.2 million games on Itch have 0 ratings. I do not think many users will take the effort to give tags. And the tags given by the few users that bother, might be just as inaccurate as the developer tags.

The annoying thing about ai slop is, that some creators spam it. They release many, many games or assets. And if you try looking at a particular nieche, it can happen that all you see is garbage of one spammer on a page. I guess no one would care, if a developer releases 1 sloppy game, be it made with ai or not. But some of those release 30 projects in a month.
