I was actually torn between this concept and one other for the first eleven or so hours of the jam, so it's a miracle I even got anything done in time. :P I'm happy you think the execution is great, though I am absolutely releasing a post-jam update to fix broken things and typos, alongside adding more content and hopefully making the system a bit more coherent. Haven't heard anyone else saying about The Stanley Parable as any kind of comparison point, so I'm definitely intrigued to see how that translates post-jam.
