Sure. Let's ban NSFW games too. Then we can ban games that talk about sensitive topics, (like Suici**, cancer, SA), then we can erase games made with Unreal because Unreal 5 got the bad fame of being low performant, and games made with Unity (due it's nature of pretty much scamming their users.
Also, about your idea of 'exceptions'. How do you know when your game has X percentage of AI content?
If I use a Background removal tool of a 'handmade' art, it counts? If I use an upscaler, that count as well, isn't? If I draw a detailed and colored sketch to guide a diffusion model, using, IDK, 50,60 o 70% in intensity in the refiner of Krita AI Diffusion, and then, as usual in my case, edit the image after all (old school method). ¿what exact percentage is? ¿50,60,70, more, less?
If I ask Gemini to, IDK, create a tune, a small piece of music I can't find anywhere because it doesn't exists, licenses limitation, etc. And then I edit the audio in audacity to make it sound like it comes from a old speaker. Again, what percentage is in this case?
And about coding. If I use chatGPT to refactor, search for potential errors, or even create a complex script I designed/defined exactly how it should work before hand. Again... what percentage it is?
And if i made a game that has fully human made assets but also AI generated/assisted stuff here and there. (for whatever reason), how you globally keep track of the entire percentage?
These are just some examples, I think others can came with more and most people will respond differently.
Slop is slop because it's low effort, no matter if done with help of AI or not. And Yes, believe it or not. It takes effort (manual effort, 'old school' techniques, active dev participation, etc) to create something good with AI.
There is no such thing as a 'AI-generated game'. How do you think it works? Do you think I sit in front of idk, chatGPT, type, 'create me a game' and the thing spit out a .exe file?
Ironically and Sad seeing people talking about 'effort' and 'respect' for both works and artists but then don't hesitate in sh** in someone's else effort and disrespect the creator and it's work because they use a set of very specific tools in more than one place.
You said there is a trend that you think it's about to increase. If we are talking about the general AI usage globally, yes, i agree with you. I also think it will to increase (it's already doing) market changes, industry standards changes, technology changes, and the whole rotten world change. I'm saying this, because as an AI user, i want you to know i am not your enemy. I am just somebody that tries to keep up with the changes.
Sorry for the wall of text.
