I think I understand what you mean - it's easy to go too far in the other direction if you're trying to write your protagonist "not like other characters". I'm glad to hear that my MCs feel down to earth and unique though; I just wanted to make each of them a type of woman I hadn't seen in stories before, so it's good to hear I did get the balance right. Yes! A certain over-correction shift happened in the otome community. So it's just really nice to see some tangible female protagonists and authors moving away from this black and white dichotomy when it comes to writing them for otome/visual novel games.
