I'm not sure if I broke the game but I couldn't do anything after jumping in the circle. The jump count wasn't going down and the voice stopped so idk if there was more to do. Found 19 coins tho. I thought the /17 was part of the joke but according to your comment below it feels like there were only supposed to go up to 17?? Also I wanted to break the game so I interacted with everything before the voice could explain, which means I had no idea what any of the minigames actually were about XD Maybe you want to prevent that to not confuse the player, even if it's their fault lol. For the bomb my cursor was locked on the center so idk what I was supposed to be doing, I just threw it on the wall at some point somehow. From the voice, I guess I was supposed to throw it out the window instead? For the jump circle, I just avoided it and went back to collect the coins, maybe that caused an issue? I'm a very evil player. Had fun tho.

I challenge you to break my game now.

Hi, it does sounds like you're the first person to actually break the game!

So were you jumping up and down over and over in the circle and the counter didn't go down at all? I'd really like to get to the bottom of what happened here. There was one additional room after that point, but you were nearly at the end.

No no that is part of the joke, you can get way over the 17 :D. The bomb was working as intended by the sounds of things. That is a 'bug'. But by bug here I mean an intention one that the 'developer' of the story accidentality left in.

I would really appreciate if you'd be able to clarify what happened with the jump circle. I.e. if you just jumped once, or you were jumping and nothing was happening. Thank you!

So the voice presented the jump room, but instead of going to the circle, I went around and saw the coin counter screen. So I started going back to the other rooms to collect the coins. Still avoiding the circle. Once I couldn't interact with anything else (a solid 2 min), I went to the circle but nothing happened when I jumped. I tried jumping in place, jumping off the circle,... but nothing happened.

Oki doki, thank you. I'm just going to have a look into that and then I'll try your game out!

Unfortunately I can't seem to replicate the issue at all. The detection area / variables that allow jumping are not mutated by anything in the game that is outside of that room. What OS / Browser are you using if I may ask? And just to absolutely confirm, you went inside the circle, pressed the spacebar and nothing happened? The counter remained at 10 too I presume?

I'll check your game out now, and I'll have to explore this in more detail I think!

That's right, that's what I've done. I'm on Windows 10, Vivaldi browser. Yes it stayed at 10.

I also had this problem with the jump circle not working. When I jumped normally the number was not counting down. For some reason though, I was able to get it to work by jumping in a very specific spot while walking into the circle and spamming space bar at the back of the circle facing the counter. No clue how this worked but it did. Great game btw!

Thank you for sharing this, I definitely need to try and suss out what's going on here, it seems to be a pretty rare bug that's only affecting a few people.

Would you be able to share your OS and browser that you were using please?

Thank you for sticking with it and finding a way for it to work as well! Really appreciate you taking the time to play the game, hope you had fun despite the jump circle trying to sabotage you!

Scratch that - great news I've found the cause. It's a race condition caused by a mismatch between the physics process and some checks being done in the _process loop. And this race condition manifests when the framerate is under 60.

I'll be able to get a fix sorted, thank you very much for reporting this.
