The game is kind of enforcing the speedrunning flow, and it can be a bit frustrating for people to restart from the very beginning. Games like Geometry Dash solve this by providing a practice mode - so you would play the game with checkpoints first, then start making actual runs (it's actually how speedrunners do it as well lol!)

Additionally, player's interaction with environment should be a bit better - sometimes enemy hitboxes or appearing lasers felt unfair. But the movement felt nice, no complains in this regard. I actually went ahead and gave a couple of more attempts after completing the game, managed to finish it in 58 seconds!

really appreciate the feedback. we realised on Sunday that the gameplay loop was way too hard, but didn't have any strong ideas on how to fix it minus increasing the countdown timer, which we were hesitant to do because we wanted to try and make the loop revolve around slowly improving your time.

a practice mode or similar would've been a perfect solution for this and I wish we had thought of it, but alas, we did not. glad you enjoyed the movement as we put a lot of focus there and I know it can feel floaty but I like to think it's a controllable floaty. good job on 58 seconds, you're now the 2nd fastest player to complete the game (that I know of)!

...and I took it personally! There's some room for optimization, especially in Stage 3, but I'm no speedrunner:

fking awesome man, nice run. glad to see people enjoying beating the game as much as i do, you have thrown down the gauntlet and i shall rise up to this challenge

thats actually crazy
