This is one of the most creative interpretations of the theme I have seen so far: however it feels like it is creative to a detriment. After a certain point I found the gameplay to be quite confusing, and it felt like after a certain point the level design of the game was conflicting with the gameplay. However I thought the artwork and audio was consistent in directing the player's decision making, and overall it was a fun play.

Same here. Puzzling part after the first few levels is more about figuring out the rules of the game than solving actual puzzles.
This is not bad in general, but for some reason here it felt a bit frustrating.
If it will be scaled into a bigger game in future, I'd suggest adding few more levels for any mechanic before going to the next one.
