I agree with a daunting early upgrade cycle. For the next big patch, my plan is to condense the early cycle significantly with a push for the first major milestone, a boss fight. Be sure to watch for updates, thanks for playing!

False alarm, sorry! I had an unexpected net outage and that was the last message I posted before it happened! Game loaded fine. Currently stuck in a tutorial loop "Abyss - Return to Camp" - this is in my old game, not a fresh one.
