Could you describe the nature of the softlock?

Got the heavy weapon and now cannot escape since I don't have a weapon that destroys the yellow hexagon blocks

The heavy weapon can be used to break the other cracked blocks

Yes but the only way I can get out is through the other type of block or by somehow cheesing my way through the rotating blocks that make for one way corridors.

I'm softlocked in a different place. I backtracked towards the starting save point (because I remembered some yellow blocks back there) and after reloading from the save point I've lost the HUD, the speed upgrade, as well as the grapple hook (but I still have 3 weapons). I already toggled the switch so there is literally no where to go that doesn't require the grapple. When I quit to title it says slot 1 0% (but I still have the laser and the heavy shot).

So I guess I'm totally fucked unless I start over. Cool game otherwise.

Unfortunately, this issue would be hard to debug without the save file, do you still have it or has it been overwritten? It would be located in “\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\Angel Shell” on Windows.

Yes I still have it. Here are the contents:

Reading through it I'm guessing there's something about that first save room that initializes {"clear_percent":0.0,"cur_biome":0,"current_chips":{}} to these defaults.

Thank you. It would appear that only the “current_chips” data is missing, which is strange. The “clear_percent” and “max_hp” values would both normally be derived from it. Although, did you ever raise the water level in this playthrough? I assume yes, as normally that is required to open the doors, which is listed has having been done, however that sequence isn’t in the save file either. Additionally, when you loaded this save, did you ever save to this slot again?

I started a new save and finished the game. I definitely hadn't raised the water on my first time through, but I definitely did get up to change the door state. Maybe the way I got up there with the grapple was cheese?

I think as soon as I got there with the water not raised it took away my HUD (and all current_chips).  I made a copy of my first sav, and replaced the current_chips with the values from my 100% save (when I did this I tried saving and qutting to the menu and it updated my 0% to 100% automatically). I didn't have to try very hard to get through that area again without the water raised. Where is it supposed to be blocked because of the lack of water?

Super fun game, hope to see more! Have you played Worms Armageddon by any chance (it would be fun to do some ninja-rope style swinging too)?

Opening the doors before raising the water is not the intended path, but there shouldn’t be anything in the game where doing things in that order like that would cause such a big issue. That said, maybe there is something I am unaware of, regardless I will have to look into why the current_chips were not saved at that time.

I have no experience with the Worms series at the moment.
