Maybe it's a problem with my PC... Pressing the space bar just made the browser scroll down the page, and the Enter key didn't respond at all, so I couldn't get past the opening demo.

I'd seen the screenshots and was really curious about the game, so I tried everything I could—hitting all sorts of keys on the keyboard and clicking the mouse frantically—but no matter what I did, I still couldn't get past the opening demo.

What a bummer... 😞

Thank you for the report!

I’ve been experiencing the same issue, and the keys start working after I refresh the screen and reopen it a second time.

Since a friend of mine seems to be able to play,

this method should work for you too!

(Unfortunately, the 72-hour update deadline has passed, so this will be addressed after the jam.)

Actually, after that, I really wanted to play this game, so I accessed the game objects directly and played this game. I had a great time. Honestly, it was fun.

It's possible that you've configured the settings incorrectly—such as having WebGL share input focus with the page when the game is exported—or that the issue might be resolved by adjusting settings on itch.io, such as “Enable scrollbars” or the “Fullscreen” button. Anyway…

"Essential Bug Fixes" and "Adding New Platform Builds" are permitted.

…I think this falls under the "Essential Bug Fixes" mentioned there, so if possible, fixing it quickly might result in everyone being able to enjoy the game. 🙂

Thanks for the advice!

I fixed the key inputs without adding any new game content.

I think it should be fixed now?

It works on my end, anyway—I hope everyone enjoys it!

Yes! I just confirmed it. Just by pressing the space bar, the game started up without any issues, and I was able to play it.

It reminds me of when I was a kid, clutching a coin in front of a candy store, standing in front of that one arcade machine everyone would crowd around. It's the kind of game that feels like it's right at home there. I mean that in a good way — it has that kind of charm.

I hope this bring some "FUN" to as many people as possible during the rest of the evaluation period! 🙂
