This game has really great potential. I absolutely love the concept. I learned how to make coffee with a friend the other day. They love the process of making coffee. It was with him that I learned I need to pour the water in circles. I didn’t learn all the fine little details you were teaching here. It’s so nice to see a game that teaches niche, specialized knowledge in a realistic way.

I want to see this game become brewtastic, I really do. Are you thinking of improving it? Here are some thoughts for that:

  • Text shouldn’t be so pixelized.
  • Increase color contrast ratio. It’s hard to see and read things properly the way it is right now.
  • Let us continue to learn hints from the boss even after we “used” our hint. It’s hard to take everything in just by hearing it a single time.
  • I don’t know how to change coffees. I pressed E to change it, but nothing happened.
  • You can easily make the whole game mouse accessible. You could also make it keyboard or controller accessible if you wanted to. I think I’ve been writing too many comments these days to write down all the recommendations, but if you’re interested I’ll note them down with more detail.
  • I think we should be able to have a help button as we’re making the coffee. Tips might be shorter during the pouring water phase. We could also be in control of pouring the coffee grind, I think. And be able to reset our seconds-counter, or even set a timer.

I want to see this being perfected. Do you think that would be something you’d be interested in doing?

Also, if you like coffee games, check out this masterpiece: Barista.

yoo thanks for playing! i will definitely improve the game in the future. In my original concept getting a hint would unlock an entry in the brewpedia (which i didnt have time to add ;-;) which actually goes into more detail. pressing E should bring up a menu in the grind phase, maybe it was bugged for you? making it playable mouse only is also on my list, controller might be a bit weird though. it was also going to be a bit more interactive (i was going to have you weigh the coffee yourself) but i decided its too complicated and not instrumental to the gameplay. as for the text being pixelated thats a result of the low resolution, but i have a few ideas to make it more readable. thanks for the in depth analysis, very helpful for the future of the game ;)
