How is the mining not up to par? Do you have any ideas on how we could've designed it to be more fun? :)

I don't have any specific ideas - all I can tell you that once I descended into the mine it felt like an empty area. After some time I felt like I spent more time searching for resources rather than mining them - maybe that was your design but I just didn't like that. The mining itself also felt shallow - it was essentialy just 'press X to mine'. Maybe it gets better later on thanks to upgrades, but after the first few I just wasn't hooked enough :/
Now, I think that it's not my place as a player to tell you HOW to fix this, I can just tell you my feelings and what was going on in my head. I hope that maybe some of my comments will let you improve on the game - or make it appeal to a broader audience.
