I became a wheelionare in 33 minutes. I think the first 25 minutes were spent getting to 10k, then for maybe 8 minutes I was spam-clicking the “spin all wheels” button. I then found the auto-spinner in my last few minutes of gameplay, so I didn’t have to click anymore.
After winning the game, I went back to investigate the wheel fusion mechanic. That was pretty cool! I’m glad there is a way to reclaim wheel slots, and it does something different from the typical upgrade.
I liked the slow start at the beginning and the snowball effect, though it is probably a bit too extreme in how exponential it feels. Once I had 4 wheels, everything else was a blur where I could always afford to buy as many upgrades as I wanted. I didn’t really understand which upgrades unlocked which other upgrades (thus my late discovery of the auto-spinner), and the Luck mechanic was unclear to me, so I think this dissuaded me from exploring all the upgrades earlier on when the top upgrades had such obvious utility and cheapness in comparison. Still good gameplay for a game jam, though!
The sound and visual design is top-notch: very nice work on the clicky buttons, music, and whirr sounds. Some lag issues at the endgame, and the audit button uses an emoji that doesn’t render on my system, but those are minor problems. Overall, fun game!
