Okay, i'm not gonna lie, but the current version of the game? kinda sucks
ship upgrades? the ship getting bigger as the game goes? great idea
the ship starting without the main game mechanics (power, o2, temperature) SUCKS!!
i've spent 2,5 hours flying around, doing the missions with nothing happening except one empty message from Unknown, the moment i finish the last mission (solar panels), get the game end screen and get back to my ship suddenly the temperature is freezing. I assumed it was a glitch, Temperature game mechanic kicking in before i bought but after i unlocked the last ship upgrade, so i equip the space-worthy suit, undock and start flying back to the main station, during which i remember that the last upgrade unlocked the power console, maybe thats what broke, so i get out of the seat, walk to the back of the ship, only for my player character to do a 180 and a jumpscare happend, before i insta died.
I have NO idea what i did wrong, which SUCKS
i don't know if the temperature going freezing was a giveaway that something was wrong, because that game mechanic litteraly wasn't included in the current 'full' game, and the new way the lifeform scanner works kinda sucks? because like, you HAVE to already know something is wrong to think to use it and just confirm? Idk, kinda sucks
anyway, my main point is that the starting ship lacks the temperature, power and o2 mechanics, the rest is just salt about a random jumpscare, everything else is well made
for the lifeform scanner, maybe it should be a major power sink? Currently I’ve only seen lights drain power, and after you get the solars upgrade (I think it still exists? My power generation went from 10 to 16) you can keep all the important lights on 24/7 and as such in the current version batteries are kinda useless
Maybe if the lifeform scanner used like 10 power when active, but worked like the old one (passive scan instead of having to click the button and wait a whole minute) it would be better? The player would be incentivized to keep it disabled to not waste power, but whenever it’s needed it works well but is on a timer before you run out of power
The only major issue I see with that is that currently you can only see the power status in the back of the ship so if say the monster is blocking the doors you wouldn’t know how much power you’re left with
